Bright Paths Program Offers In-Demand Tech Skills to 22 Women in Detroit
Today, Perficient is proud to announce the graduation of our first Perficient Bright Paths program and celebrate the 22 women graduating from the class, helping to advance STEM education and career opportunities for underrepresented constituencies and communities. These women have taken their tech skills from a glimmer to a glow in just 14-weeks, truly showing what a Bright Path within Perficient looks like.
Perficient introduced the Bright Paths program in 2020 to help close the education and employment gaps that exist within the technology industry. “I am amazed by the talent in the first Bright Paths class and their enthusiasm for professional development. Together, we’re driving real change within the technology industry and our communities,” Andrea Lampert, Vice President of People
Let the Festivities Begin!
Bright Paths students are experiencing a day of celebrations, with special presentations, happy hours, and a graduation ceremony featuring a guest speaker from the Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation.
Over the past fourteen weeks, students in our first Bright Paths program, an all-female cohort based in Detroit, have studied tirelessly to learn how to code using Python. Their experience included technical lessons, skills training, and special guest speakers on Perficient Thursdays that hosted everyone from our executive leadership team to our Women in Tech ERG.
Through this training, they have learned about fundamental concepts in software engineering, received an inside look at what it’s like to work in the consulting business, and had the opportunity to engineer their own applications using the knowledge they gained during the program.
Putting Their Skills to Work
