Colleague Bill Cacy and I have been actively working with Sitecore recently on an issue that has been affecting one of our clients. Recently, @techphoria414 asked on the Sitecore Stack Exchange: “What are some appropriate uses for Sitecore Data Providers?” My answer was: When Security is just too complicated for Sitecore. People offered a lot of suggestions with lots of ways to implement data providers using different strategies and philosophies. Still, I thought […]

As winter is coming in Canada and there will be family fun in the snow, we have been brainstorming on the Sitecore Family-Friendly Conference and had some interest however not enough yet for a full conference. After looking a bit harder we realized that it is hard to do 2 conferences in a year and since […]

Sitecore FXM Unable to locate JavaScript beacon on external site
Federated Experience Manager (FXM) is a very useful part of Sitecore, in that it allows end users to add content to and track events on external applications. We also can forget that making Sitecore friendlier for our content team is critical to […]

Sitecore Stack Exchange Needs You!
Two months ago Mark Cassidy launched a proposal to start a Sitecore site on Stack Exchange. At Sitecore Symposium, it was announced that the Sitecore proposal was the fastest proposal ever on Area 51 (Stack Exchange’s New Site Staging Zone) to garner enough support to move into private beta. On September 13, just a month (!!!) after the proposal […]
Searching Sitecore Page Datasources in Atomic Architecture
Searching Sitecore Page Datasources When first enabling search in your Sitecore solution, you may find that page content is not searchable. This is especially true if you heavily rely on Experience Editor for your site assembly. Searching Sitecore page datasources is solved by a very common pattern that I refer to as “Page Visualization.” Page Visualization […]
