Oracle’s March 2022 update to Enterprise Data Management (EDM) cloud solution expands the solution’s capabilities in multiple areas. These enhancements address some crucial areas such as resolving data integrity issues, data migration, and request tracking. The following sections highlight several of these key updates.
Download Validation Results
Efficiently resolving data integrity errors identified by EDM validations can sometimes be challenge when information is needed from non-EDM users. Starting March’s update, the validation errors can be downloaded to a MS Excel file. This allows EDM users to obtain assistance/feedback from others. The file contains specific information such as the nodes, their properties, relationships, and the failure messages.
Additionally, corrections can be applied directly to the data in the file, and the file can then be uploaded to an EDM request.
Dimension Migration
A previous update from Oracle provided the ability to migrate registered applications across environments. Now, administrators have the ability to migrate dimensions as well!
Dimension templates permit users to create new dimensions, or update existing dimensions in a target environment. The template contains a single dimension, it’s various data chain artifacts and additional objects (views, properties, connections, etc.) related to the dimension. One thing to note, dimension templates do not contain data, requests, or audit history.

Graphical Request Tracking
“A picture is worth a thousand words” is an adage that many of us can agree is true, especially when dealing with complex technical environments or applications. EDM now provides users with a “picture” of the subscription process whenever a request is committed. The new Request Lineage screen displays any requests which preceded or followed the individual request. Users can view request details such as the name, status, and owner of each request in the lineage. Additionally, users can click on any request displayed to see information such as the items, comments, attachments, history, etc.
This new feature will greatly aid users in having a holistic view of the subscription process tied to their requests, and will help administrators address situations where further investigation or monitoring is needed.
