In spite of the push by vendors to move to cloud based applications, many organizations are still installing software in their own data centers.
Oracle University offers a couple great classes on the Oracle Hyperion infrastructure, specifically for installation and configuration of Oracle Hyperion Financial Management and Oracle Hyperion Planning. Both of these classes provide a great introduction to the core Hyperion application architecture. Oracle certified Perficient consultants teach both of these classes out of our Houston training center.
On May 2, 2016, I will be teaching the Oracle Hyperion Financial Management Installation and Configuration class for version 11.1.2.x in Houston. During the class, we walk through the full installation and validation of HFM with all of the components included in an HFM Plus license like Shared Services, Smart View, Financial Reporting, and WebAnalysis. Below is Oracle’s description of the course:
In this course, you learn about the processes involved in installing, configuring, upgrading, testing, and maintaining Financial Management. You learn about the layers in the Enterprise Performance Management infrastructure. Discussions include planning the installation, installing and configuring Hyperion Financial Management components, testing, upgrading, and maintaining the system. Exercises provide hands-on practice installing and configuring Financial Management in a multi-server installation.
The course is based on version 11.1.2.1 but knowing clients are on later versions, I plan to do a parallel installation of the same components in the 11.1.2.4 version on one of our classroom workstations. What else will we talk about while the software is installing? Come find out. I am Oracle Certified and have almost a decade of real world experience installing and supporting Oracle EPM infrastructure.
