What is your role? Describe a typical day in the life.

I am a Lead Technical Consultant. I specialize in Sitecore-based solutions and contribute this knowledge to my team at Perficient. My day typically starts with a daily stand-up where we share our progress updates and obstacles on the user stories assigned. We plan for the day and align it with a sprint goal. Along with my individual tasks, I work with my team members wherever they need me. I contribute to the Sitecore implementation review along with other leads.

How do you explain your job to family, friends, or children?

I work with an incredible team where we help our clients serve their own clients via technology-based solutions. Basically, we help our clients reach their business goals by providing them with the appropriate technical implementation.

What are your proudest accomplishments, personally and professionally? Any milestone moments at Perficient?

I consider myself lucky to be part of Perficient and to have worked on some meaningful projects. As a result, I was able to do some research in Sitecore and share my findings via blog posts. Being honored with the Sitecore Technology MVP Award 2023 is a huge milestone both professionally and personally.

Sandeepkumar Gupta Belgium AtomiumWhat has your experience going through the MVP process taught you?

It has taught me adherence to regularity and good habits. Maintaining monthly blogging has been key. The value of the content supersedes quantity, with quality being determined by the uniqueness of the problem presented and its solution, as well as the level of detail provided.

What advice would you give to someone who wants to become an MVP?

It’s important to identify your way of contributing your learnings or findings to the Sitecore community. What are you most passionate about? Whether it is through blog posts, making videos on YouTube, giving online or offline sessions, answering the Sitecore Stack Exchange questions, or helping people on Sitecore forum and Sitecore Slack, etc., there is an avenue for everyone.

Also, determine how you will deal with challenges. Come up with multiple possibilities and pick the best one. If your findings are unique and worth sharing, then I encourage you to share them with the community via blog posts or other channels. Focus more on the process of self-learning, and contribution to the community. Most importantly, make sure to nominate yourself when the MVP nomination is open within the timeline!

Why did you choose Perficient? What keeps you here?

Sitecore like-minded people and Sitecore opportunities for growth keep me fascinated at Perficient.

Why are you #ProudlyPerficient?  Sandeepkumar Gupta Linc Kl

Perficient has given me a platform where I can utilize my expertise, work with awesome people, and share my findings on the Perficient blog, which is a great way to reach the community.

What motivates you in your daily work?

Perficient’s culture. We really promote work-life balance. Also, the opportunity to research programming challenges.

Whether big or small, how do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?

We have a great team onshore and offshore, making the process smooth. I still try to observe the stuff going on around me a bit more. Whether it’s requirements or implementation, it is important to keep observing multiple requirement sources and implementations so that I can ask the right questions, provide better solutions, or guide the team members accordingly. I always try to continue to share the research work or findings in blog posts.

How have you grown your career at Perficient?

I was lucky to be involved in a development project utilizing Sitecore Experience Accelerator. I was able to make contributions to ongoing projects later, thereby sharpening my skills in reverse engineering and troubleshooting areas.

People! I love to work with technical team members, specifically when I can guide them with the solution outline. For example, brainstorming on a challenge with a concerned developer is one of the best parts of my job and I enjoy it a lot. This allows me to share my expertise and helps improve my thinking skills by gaining knowledge and experience from others.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I enjoy spending quality time with my family and friends. I am also passionate about playing chess and traveling.

What goals do you have for personal and professional development?

I share my Sitecore insights through the Perficient Blog and my personal blog Sitecore Thinker. I am happy to be a part of the Sitecore community and Perficient, so my goal is to sustain my involvement by continually contributing to both the community and projects that come my way.
