So it makes sense that the team’s cumulative knowledge would include experts who’ve worked in the same halls as the clients we support. Take, for instance, solutions architect Melinda Schmidt. We caught up recently, and she shared what makes her tick as well as the joy that comes out of the work she delivers with our healthcare team.
Thank you for joining me today, Melinda. I’d love to kick off by hearing more about how your nursing background ties to the work we’re delivering for Perficient’s healthcare clients.
As an RN with years of experience in the clinical setting and the payer space, I help bring distinct healthcare insights and IT knowledge to our team and to our clients. I especially enjoy strategizing toward better business outcomes – pinpointing ways to leverage clinical data, ramp up an RPM platform, add a new medical device to the EMR, and the vast array of other healthcare-related topics that our clients want to pursue, but they need balanced industry-technology-strategy guidance so they can be most effective.
From a young age, I’ve embraced a “Do what is right” attitude, which was reinforced through my nursing school and clinical experience. This mindset aligns so well with Perficient’s values and culture, and I’m thrilled to bring this drive to my work.
I’m excited to leverage my clinical knowledge and help drive further innovation, using technology to change healthcare for the better, especially as we can go into rural areas and provide care.

I am very committed to all healthcare-related issues, and during my time here I’ve met many team members who are just as committed to topics I embrace, like population health. It is good to know that I am part of a team that truly is looking to improve the overall healthcare industry. And collaborating with the healthcare team is awesome!
I value the commitment Perficient demonstrates in healthcare and life sciences and our dedication to helping clients achieve their most important business objectives. I’m excited to contribute to projects around virtual health and operational efficiencies, helping clients reinforce patient/member access to care while keeping their protected health information (PHI) secure.
Perficient believes in a strong work-life balance, and this is important to me as my family and tennis/pickleball activities play a major factor in my well-being. I am part of a hard-working team, but we also check in with each other and discuss topics not associated with work. Feel free to ask me anytime how my tennis and pickleball games are going!

What made you decide to work for Perficient? And what makes you stay and want to do your best work here?
I joined Perficient because it was a great professional and cultural fit.
