Unveiling the New Perficient People Promise

After a year unlike any other, I sat down with Perficient’s Vice President of People Andrea Lampert, to learn more about the inspiration behind the work Perficient recently invested in refining our People Promise, a meaningful and aspirational statement that captures the essence of who we are and who we aspire to be.

Andrea, thank you for the time today. Tell me more about Perficient’s People Promise.

Thank you for having me today, Marisa. Perficient’s People Promise is very simply what Perficient promises our people.

The same way we articulate to our clients exactly why they should do business with us, applying an employer value proposition – sometimes called an employee brand platform – offers candidates and colleagues both the chance to understand the answers to two key questions: “Why do people join Perficient?” and “Why do our employees want to stay and do their best work?”

Our People Promise, and its supporting attributes – Growth for Everyone; Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging; Global Footprint with Genuine Connections; and Biggest Brands – express the commitment we make to our people with hopes to foster an environment and culture that not only attracts but retains the most talented in our industry to build long and prosperous careers with us.

Perficient has always invested in its people. What makes this different?

That’s very true. Perficient is a formidable force and our colleagues are always recognized as the reason behind our success, yet there are a few things that set this initiative apart – and why it was worth the investment.

We recognized an opportunity to build upon and articulate our employer brand. Understanding why colleagues select Perficient and stay at Perficient is critical in ensuring we can continue to sustain and grow top-notch talent. We’re building an environment that challenges, champions, and celebrates its people.

It seems each colleague I talk to sees themselves in the People Promise. It really resonates. That wasn’t by accident, was it?

Not at all. A team across Perficient applied a very thorough process to truly understand key points such as what attributes are important in an employer and where does Perficient shine and also aspire to be?

From the beginning, it was important to include the global voices of our own people in this process. The Discovery Process began with gathering data from social media and review site scans and looking at various internal data, such as results from Perficient’s annual Employee Engagement Survey. We also enlisted colleague input at various job levels, functions, and tenures around the world to understand what they value in an employer and matched that with input from our talent acquisition team to learn about what attracts people to Perficient.

Finally, we validated three crafted messages with a series of focus groups to learn what really resonated. The focus groups were especially powerful because they gave our team a chance to talk through specific themes that allowed us to hone our messaging. After gaining valuable feedback and buy-in from leadership, we are excited to launch it now!

It’s great to know the same care Perficient offers to our clients is also offered to our people. Colleagues are already responding enthusiastically why they are #ProudlyPerficient! It will be fun to experience what the rest of this year holds for Perficient. Any final thoughts?

Our business is built upon our people and the services we deliver for our clients. Our sights are set on becoming a global leader and multi-billion dollar organization, and our people are the key to achieving those goals.

Our business is strong, and we need to not only retain the fantastic colleagues we have currently, but also attract new talent to be able to deliver for our customers. We have many open roles for all types of skillsets technical and beyond.

People can expect a wonderful career experience here, both professionally and personally. I’ll wrap by saying since joining Perficient, I continue to be amazed at the people who make up this organization, and I look forward to continuing to advance our business forward as we challenge, champion, and celebrate our people.
