Perficient is excited to present Retail Roundtable: A Year of Change in E-commerce and Supply Chain with the Dallas Business Journal. We’ll sit down with leaders at Sally Beauty to discuss the strategies and tactics that have helped them succeed with e-commerce and supply chain management in 2020.
Shifting Priorities
This year we’ve all had to dramatically change our lives. From social distancing to the way we work, it has been a year unlike any other. With that, our shopping habits have changed, altering the ways retailers are doing business. With an influx of ecommerce sales, many businesses have had to shift how to get orders into their customers hands. Curbside pickup and the ability to ship-from-store have been popular alternatives to ensure safety for both customers and employees. However, many retailers only had mere weeks to ramp up programs to support these new shopping habits.
Retailers with strong order management systems have prevailed during the pandemic. A clear view of inventory both in stores and in distribution centers has made the logistics of these programs quite simply work. Without the ability to shop in safe, convenient ways, some retailers may not have made it. Because of these systems, many of our clients have seen 100% ROI on their OMS investments during the pandemic.
