Watching Grey’s Anatomy last night, I was once again struck by how they seem to be starting to weave in current healthcare issues and considerations. For a show that has never seemed to be aware of its surroundings, or the current climate (at least to me) in the past, its seemed a little jarring. It prompted me to do a little research, and I learned that this is possibly the result of PR efforts to drive awareness around HIE’s and other current topics.
Personally I think this is a good thing. If a popular TV show can help to raise awareness of the importance of Consumer Driven Healthcare and patient engagement, that’s a step in the right direction. Although I do wish they’d embrace technology as a tool to help rather than hinder!
If you’d like to learn more about how technology can be used to make Patient engagement more meaningful with predictive analytics, join our February 28th webinar. Dr. Marcie Stoshak-Chavez will be sharing examples of how you can visually explain complicated scenarios to patients and show that by changing a few variables, the patient could experience improved health and a longer life expectancy.
