This is just one out of a long list of facts from The American Red Cross that shows why more blood donors are so desperately needed.
One of Perficient’s core values is its people first commitment that strives to provide meaningful experiences to its employees and give back to the community.
On March 8th & 9th, Perficient’s Lafayette Delivery Center hosted their third quarterly blood drive event, in partnership with Lourdes Medical Center.

Giving The Gift of Life
Right outside the office doors, employees took turns donating blood in Lourdes’ mobile donation center. While donating myself, I got a chance to talk about the blood drive event with one of my fellow Bright Paths hires, Katie Griffith.
We talked about why she got involved, what her experience was like, and what it meant to her as a new employee at Perficient’s LDC.

Blood Donors hold a special place in my heart. My oldest daughter, who is now 12, was born with 75 percent of her blood totally missing from her little body.
She received 3 blood transfusions and a platelets transfusion over the span of a few days. It was a selfless blood donation that saved my daughter’s life. So, I give back because you never know who it will help.
Overall, it was a very good experience. It was nice seeing some my fellow coworkers out there and getting to chat with them in person for a bit. The donation process was fast, so it fit into my schedule nicely. All together it only took maybe 20min. Tops!
I am always looking for ways to volunteer and give back. I love that Perficient was able to organize this opportunity to give back to the community that we serve. It really felt good to see everyone give of themselves without a second thought.
