The self-service mobile app Perficient Digital created for the Jackson Energy Authority (JEA) was recently named Best Energy Mobile App by the Web Marketing Association (WMA) during its 2018 Internet Advertising Competition (IAC).
JEA is a regulated utility company that provides electric, gas, propane, water, wastewater, and broadband services to customers in western Tennessee. Developed for both Android and iOS devices, the mobile app allows JEA customers to easily access their account information, pay bills, report power outages, and more – tasks that could previously only be completed by phone, mail, or visiting a customer location.
Dale Justice, Systems Analyst over Management Information Systems at JEA, explained that developing a mobile app was in keeping with the company’s tradition of providing great service to its customers.
“Through the app, we can communicate real-time information to our customers,” Justice said. “Having this information available on a smartphone has afforded our customer base the opportunity to streamline their communications with JEA.”
This award marks the second consecutive year Perficient Digital has come away victorious from the IAC awards. In 2017, we brought home a pair of awards for the work we did for Carhartt and The Henry Ford, respectively.
