Oracle BI EE 11g Release 1 (11.1.1.9)
As you might know, Oracle has released OBIEE 11.1.1.9.0. There are a host of new features that I know some of my clients have been looking for; including the ability to save calculated fields for reuse in other analyses, enhanced export functionality, and Hyperion Planning data source support. We are installing 11.1.1.9 at one of our clients right now and will let you know our impressions in the next couple of weeks. The reason we are moving to 11.1.1.9 is due to some important changes to the Certification Matrix.
Updated Operating System Support
- Windows 2012 R2: BI Server and BI Admin Client Support
- Windows 8.1 64-bit: BI Server (dev use only) and BI Admin Client Support
- 32-bit OS no longer supported
NOTE: Windows 2012 R2 and Windows 8.1 64-bit requires JDK/JRE 1.7.0_80+.
Expanded Database support for the OBIEE RCU Repository
- MS SQL Server 2012 SP1 (Native Drivers recommended)
Expanded Microsoft Office Support
- Microsoft Office 2013 is now supported for the OBI Add-In
Newer versions of Browsers are now required for support
- Apple Safari 7
- Apple Safari 8

Looking for a solution for BI11.1.1.9.X where I can’t get external iplanet LDAP to authenticate. I read about a problem with virtual=true. I have applied all the patches. Any updates on this problem?
We are going to upgrade Microsoft office to 2016. Is there any impact for OBIEE version 11.1.1.9.0 ?
I posted a second blog to follow up on this. Please take a look at this post:
