I’m excited to share that today Perficient announced the re-launch of a comprehensive HIV progress information hub for the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative (IAVI) at Iavi.org. From the press release, which can be read here.
The new IAVI.org communicates the not-for-profit organization’s mission to ensure the development of safe, effective, accessible, preventive HIV vaccines for use throughout the world. The revitalized online channel equips the research community, media professionals, potential employees, advocates and donors, with the most accurate and up-to-date information regarding the efforts of IAVI and its partners.
This sustainable and scalable website will help bolster community engagement and raise awareness for AIDS vaccine research and development. IAVI required an interactive site that allowed non-technical users to manage the online presence with ease, ensured accessibility across all devices, and was scalable for future needs. IAVI also needed to better represent the organization’s work while providing a path for visitors to quickly locate information.
“In partnership with IAVI, Perficient created a new, interactive site that offers relevant and up-to-date content, and quickly connects people with important information,” said Rob Patten, general manager, Perficient’s Microsoft Southeast Business Unit. “By drawing on our deep expertise in developing collaborative digital marketing websites, the new IAVI.org offers an enhanced user experience that helps foster ideas and generates awareness for an important cause – progress towards an AIDS vaccine available to all throughout the world.”
When IAVI first approached our team, they shared their need for a website that alleviated content management challenges, allowing non-technical users to keep the site up to date without IT assistance. Utilizing Microsoft SharePoint, Perficient implemented a manageable platform with improved search and enterprise content management capabilities. In addition to IAVI.org, we also worked with IAVI to develop SharePoint-based websites for the organization’s scientific publications, IAVI Report and VAX Report.
With a more sustainable and scalable online channel, the organization is able to focus on their mission, bolster community participation, and raise awareness for AIDS vaccine research and development. Since launching the three websites, feedback has been very positive. The SharePoint solution is successfully empowering IAVI’s editorial users, who are now handling nearly all content management on their own.
