Did you know that SQL Server Analysis Services includes very powerful data mining capabilities that can help organizations find hidden patterns in their data and unlock the data’s real value? These capabilities were introduced with Analysis Services in SQL Server 2000 and really came of age in 2005. With SQL Server 2008, Microsoft has introduced a new set of client tools that integrate with Excel and Visio to make using the data mining features easier than ever.
I recently gave a presentation that focused on the Table Analysis Tools that come with the Data Mining Add-ins for Office 2007. These add-ins make SQL Server’s data mining capabilities accessible to anyone familiar with Excel.
