Followed by Mike Fitzmaurice’s, who gave an overview of the various new features in Sharepoint and their related sessions during the dev con. This was followed by back to back sessions on the various new products/features in O2007 from 8-6 for the next two days.
I was extremely kicked to see the new WSSv3 and Sharepoint Office Server with a host of new features (a lot more than I expected) including recycle bin at the web level and root site level, item level security, folders within Lists, easier to push post deployment changes to libraries (thanks to a new concept called Content Types, which btw will make life a lot easier for developers – me thinks), policies, pre-synchronous events with filtering and cancellation, event receivers at the item level, integration of infopath forms into word/excel to capture sharepoint library properties, alert templates, RSS2.0 and a whole lot more. I will blog more on each of these over the weekend and the coming weeks.
I have one reaction after attending this event – Office 2007 Rocks! Great Job by the MS team!
Go Microsoft!
