Meet Katie Wilson, Senior Technical Consultant
Describe a typical day in your role.
I’m a senior technical consultant in the Salesforce business unit. Many of my days are spent coding for our clients. I also get to interact directly with our clients, helping them decide what would most help their team and how we will accomplish that.
How are you making an impact?
On top of my normal role at Perficient, I also help with all of the events that happen within our business unit. We plan cultural events like wine tastings, bingo, and team lunches. I think these events really allow our team to get to know each other outside of our designated project teams. I’m also a member of our Women in Technology Employee Resource Group.
What motivates you in your daily work?
My clients and coworkers motivate me to continue to work hard. Our clients are always excited to see how the changes we make will help make their lives and their customers’ lives easier. My coworkers are always there to help me if I run into an issue that I can’t quite figure out and help me to keep moving forward in my work.
How have you grown your career with Perficient?
I’ve grown so much while working at Perficient. I started as an associate technical consultant and was heavily dependent on my team to help coach me through what needed to get done. Now, I help get the requirements from clients and divvy up the work, while also still coding quite a bit. I’m much more confident in both my technical abilities and my ability to interact with clients.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time with my husband and two dogs. We love to take the dogs on hikes or camping. I also really enjoy playing board games and video games with friends – especially during the winter months!
