One of the most highly anticipated sessions at Adobe Summit 2018 is AEM Rockstar. In 2017, the inaugural contest and session drew a packed ballroom, with each of the five finalists presenting their favorite Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) tip or trick. The best part? The “Shark Tank” element, as the winner is chosen right then and there.
Last Year’s Session
With more than 100 topics submitted, the finalists covered a variety of topics including data layers powered by Sling Models, standardization and tools to help AEM development teams generate consistent code, and how sling pipes can be used to change large amounts of production content in JCR. The audience also heard how AEM workflows can be customized to streamline change approval, and how mobile content authors can control designs for the content in mobile apps.
Last year’s AEM Rockstar winner was my colleague, Dan Klco, for his tip around Digital Marketing DataLayers in AEM. He’s excited to be one of the judges for this year’s contest. Dan is an experienced Adobe Digital Marketing Technical Lead, Solution Architect, Consultant, and Advisor. His skills and insights have earned him the reputation as a thought leader in the industry.
The 2018 Competition
To keep us on our toes, the 2018 competition will include live demos to demonstrate the competitors’ tips in addition to the presentations. Finalists will receive a free pass (valued at $1895) to Adobe Summit, March 25-29, 2018 in Las Vegas. The January 29th deadline is just a few weeks away, so make sure to submit soon.
Submission tips include:
- Multi-Solution items are your best bet given the varied audience at Summit
- What’s your value proposition for your tip and can you defend it?
- Does the demo have a “wow” factor?
- Adobe customers or partners + customers are desired
