With so many cloud products and concepts that currently exist in the Cloud Technology space, one can wonder, “What exactly is Java Cloud Service? How long will it take for my organization to move to cloud?”
All these are genuine concerns. So, let me start addressing some of them.
Oracle Java Cloud Service (JCS) is a PaaS offering from Oracle. Powered by Oracle WebLogic Server, it is a platform for running your business applications in the cloud. With JCS you can develop and deploy new or existing Java EE applications in the Oracle’s enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. You have the option of adding an Oracle Coherence caching and data grid tier to your deployment. The infrastructure has the same secure and reliable core capabilities offered by Oracle Cloud Infrastructure as a Service. With capabilities like elastic compute and storage, you can run any workload in Oracle Java Cloud Service, and easily grow your environment when your application needs grow.
With just a few clicks of the mouse, you can create an entire JCS application environment in the cloud. With a simple self-service wizard, you select the feature set and capacity you need for your cloud environment, including application server (WebLogic), caching and data grid (Coherence), and load balancer (Traffic Director). You don’t have to worry about setting up any infrastructure yourself. Oracle Cloud takes care of it.
Are you interested in learning more on JCS? Want to see if it really helps your development team? Is it really worth purchasing it for your organization? If so, please do come and attend my session at Oracle OpenWorld 2016 to learn more and stop by Perficient booth #1715 to continue the conversation.
