At the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2016, Perficient was awarded Microsoft’s East Region National Solution Provider (NSP) Partner of the Year and Cloud Partner of the Year, Central Region NSP Partner of the Year, and West Region NSP Partner of the Year – all for the second year in a row. This blog series takes a look at our recent Microsoft implementations in each region that helped us achieve these honors.
East Region
Perficient’s cloud-first strategy and distinct approach in compete situations is the root of our success in this region. Our sellers are tightly aligned with Microsoft and we understand how to make our joint customers successful with their deployments.
“Microsoft’s enterprise offerings have grown increasingly cloud-based as companies move to adopt this innovative, efficient and secure technology,” said Matt McGillen, vice president of Perficient’s Microsoft national business group.
Our team led successful implementations across a variety of industries in the East Region, including consumer products, financial services, and life sciences. Read on for some of the highlights:
Kraft Heinz
Prior to the Kraft Heinz merger, Heinz was a multi-technology/multi–vendor organization that realized the importance of consolidating on a single platform, in the cloud, to bring its communication needs far into the 21st century. The company was primarily using on-premises technologies with little-to-no standardization across meeting platforms, no distinct use of instant messaging or real-time communication – which can be detrimental to the success of an international company working across cultures and time zones. Further, the merger between two food giants (Kraft and Heinz) was potentially on the horizon, and Heinz knew it had to have a strong technology backbone in place to help the merger succeed. Through Perficient and Microsoft’s mutual promotion of Office 365, we successfully partnered to help Heinz merge with Kraft and come out stronger in communications, collaboration, and overall organization.

Consumer Products Company
An industry leader in coffee and coffee products engaged with Perficient and Microsoft and during a one-day architecture, design and strategy session. They decided to move to Office 365 for the company’s communication and collaboration needs. Perficient helped to move 7,500 mailboxes and ensured maximizing user licensure to be in compliance with Microsoft. The company will also move to Skype for Business from an on-premises installation, and also has road mapped using Perficient MSO services from an overall Office 365 support strategy. Because of the success of this engagement, the company has roadmapped additional data center modernization efforts including: legacy on-prem apps to Azure, EMS, and moving to Skype Conferencing and PBX to replace legacy technologies.
Life Sciences Company
As a result of their experience with a previous, unsuccessful EXO migration effort, anxiety from leaders at a life sciences company over the deployment effort was a potential barrier to their consumption of Office 365 services. Perficient met with the technical staff to review their business and technical objectives, their IT landscape, and their experience with the previous migration. Through a discovery process, education on Perficient’s deployment methodology, and sharing our experiences in deploying more than 3 million users to the Microsoft cloud, the company increased their confidence in a successful outcome for their migration. We developed a budgetary estimate, showing the approach, timeline, staffing, deliverables, expected outcomes, and cost. Within a short timeframe we executed a detailed statement of work and have the company on their path to realizing productivity benefits from Exchange Online.
