Tipping Your Hat to Open Source

tip hat

We all have moments when we just feel right about something.

On Tuesday, we met with Red Hat to discuss our partnership as we expand our Open Source Services.

During the visit, I learned how Red Hat got its name – to read more about the story… check the link http://www.computerworld.com/article/2548974/linux/ever-wonder-how-red-hat-got-its-name-.html

What sticks out to me in this article is: “The fedora has become a symbolic gift that Red Hat gives to employees and others who have done great honor to or service for the company.”

Open Source isn’t buying into a business model or even the cost savings. It’s something greater. It’s freedom. It’s opportunity. It’s contribution. It’s development. It’s innovation. All the pieces that make it possible for businesses to honor their internal teams and service their clients … and to that, I will tip my hat.
