Service Line Costing in Healthcare

To stay competitive in today’s environment, healthcare organizations need to streamline inefficient processes and understand the types and amount of resources they need to deliver care across the enterprise. This can only be achieved through cost transparency.  Most healthcare entities still use spreadsheets for costing and primitive costing methods that date back to an assembly line model – tools long abandoned by the manufacturing industry that created them.  The result is rudimentary cost allocation that fails to match resources and related costs to their services. This makes it impossible to arrive at informed decisions that will improve financial results.

As a Health IT leader, I have implemented and supported cost accounting and performance management technology solutions for more than 10 years and I am excited about the use of the Oracle Hyperion Profitability & Cost Management (HPCM) solution for healthcare providers.  This tool enables multiple costing scenarios for macro and micro costing with the ability to slice and dice by key metrics such as patient, DRG, project or organizational unit.

Perficient is an Oracle Platinum partner and we uniquely positioned to implement the HPCM solution by leveraging our strong Enterprise Performance Management and Clinical Claims analytic expertise.

Come visit our booth #1555 at HIMSS 2013 and join our webinar on March 27th to hear experts from Oracle respond to these challenges!
