Apart from the most sought out features there are other considerations before a decision to proceed with these products, like Enterprise class security, Ability to integrate with 3rd party application, Active Directory integration and Big Data integration.

Disclaimer: The below feature representation is not a comprehensive view of all the product capabilities, but gives an overview of the highlighted product features from the respective product websites.

Conclusion

Unlike the mature BI offerings, most of the data discovery platforms are relatively new and have yet to fill all the feature gaps that might make them formidable platform in the future. There are also overlaps between their BI offering and Data discovery platform features. The use cases for these products are very different and organizations would be wise to look at the use cases and the business value they might provide before making a purchase decision.
