You may know eXo from their partnership with JBoss Enterprise Portal. They provided significant content management capabilities to enhance the portal. They continue to head down what seems to be a unique route with their portal, content, collaboration, and SOA platform. They are also diving into the cloud with a fury.
CMSWire has an article about eXo’s cloud development tools or Java based Platform as a Service (PaaS) tools. CMSWire pokes some fun at them to begin with because they sure use a lot of buzzwords. That said, even though it’s still in beta, they claim to do some pretty cool things:
- Cloud based development
- Introduction of social aspects like activity streams, wiki, and forums
- Source control integration
- Ability to code for a variety of cloud based platforms like Force, Amazon, and the Google App Engine
