The Methodology Behind the List

To determine the America’s Best Midsize Employers list, Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista to independently survey more than 217,000 U.S. employees working at companies with at least 1,000 colleagues nationwide. The survey captures employees’ personal assessments of their current employer, as well as their evaluations of other organizations informed by previous roles, industry exposure, and secondhand knowledge from family and friends who have worked there. Their assessments spanned key areas such as professional development, compensation, company image, culture, and work environment. 

The results were combined with survey data collected over the past three years, prioritizing the most recent data and feedback from current employees to provida holistic evaluation of each organization. Companies were grouped by size, with midsize organizations defined as having 1,000 to 5,000 employees and large organizations exceeding 5,000 employees.
