Welcome to our grand saga, where the mundane confines of office life transform into the epic world of Westeros! In 2023 Q4, the office was immersed in a unique and thrilling event inspired by the iconic show Game of Thrones. Prepare to embark on a journey where teamwork, strategy, and creativity reign supreme as we explore the realms of these legendary houses. Houses Stark, Lannister, Targaryen, and Baratheon competed fiercely in various epic challenges.
Dragon Eggs
Teams were given limited supplies: bendy straws, tape, two pieces of paper, and a single egg. Their challenge? Build a contraption strong enough to protect the delicate egg from a drop off a ladder. The creativity and ingenuity were palpable as teams meticulously crafted their designs, each one a unique blend of engineering prowess and artistic flair. Some teams went for intricate designs resembling parachutes, while others focused on maximizing structural integrity. Bonus points were awarded to teams with the most elaborate egg decorations, transforming them into gleaming dragon eggs fit for a Targaryen.
Turkey Disguise
As a team, the challenge was to take a paper image of a turkey provided by Blake Edler, Lead Technical Consultant, and transform it into something entirely unexpected. But this was no ordinary metamorphosis; teams were tasked with unleashing their inner creativity and imagination to reimagine the turkey as an iconic figure in any realm. Among the contenders were transformations into the imposing Robert Baratheon, his majestic aura captured in feathered form; a dragon perched proudly upon a throne of fire and blood; the chilling White Walker King, rendered in chilling detail that sent shivers down the spine; and even a nod to Marvel’s infamous “snap,” a testament to pop culture’s influence on our modern mythology.
