There’s no rest for Atlanta United’s star eMLS player, Paulo Neto. While many were glued to the television for “the big game” this past Sunday with buffalo chicken dip, pizza rolls, and other delicious appetizers, Paulo had different plans in mind.
Fresh off his eMLS League Series 1 Tournament win, Paulo and Atlanta United returned to the digital pitch on February 12 for the eMLS League Series 2 Tournament. By the end of the tournament, Paulo once again defeated Minnesota United’s Lamps in a fierce competition that ended in a 6-5 battle of wits, grit, and determination.
This is Paulo’s third consecutive eMLS trophy, making him only the third eMLS player in history to accomplish the feat. What sets Paulo apart from his predecessors? He is the only player to date that has won trophies in two separate back-to-back eMLS League seasons. Way to go, Paulo!

The next event on the road to the 2023 eMLS Cup is the Last Chance Qualifier, taking place on March 11. The eMLS Cup will take place the following day on March 12 at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Participants will compete for a $100,000 prize pool and the two highest ranking players from the event will receive a coveted spot in the EA Sports FIFA 23 global series playoffs.
