In today’s Daily Standup, we interview Gustavo Arroyave, a scrum master for over ten years at Perficient Latin America.
How long have you been at Perficient Latin America?
15 years. Why have I stayed for 15 years? Why would I leave when I have the opportunity to work with new customers, and to learn about new products and new businesses? I’ve come to realize that the challenges are here at Perficient Latin America. Most importantly, I identify myself with the company culture – we are aligned. The work environment is great, I like the flat hierarchy we have here. There are just a few bosses, and I have a lot of freedom to do my work.

What are your biggest professional challenges?
What are some of the best things about Perficient Latin America?
End of the year party is super fun. Also, it’s great when we have the opportunity to go out as a team and spend time together outside of the office, sharing as friends, like when we go go-karting. The people in the company are the most exciting thing about Perficient Latin America.

What advice would you give to new Perficient Latin America employees?
Don’t resist adapting to Perficient Latin America’s ways of working, which is to be transparent, honest, and committed to exceeding customer expectations. So, in this way you need to be open to feedback. I believe in our values, this isn’t just a speech. I want all of our new employees to know, “We can help you if you are open to feedback.”
What is your motto or personal mantra?
Be transparent. It is okay to fail. The only way to succeed is learning from your failures or mistakes.
What’s your favorite game?
Soccer. Recently, I’ve also gotten into mountain biking. But, I don’t have a favorite game. I’m so bad at video games, so I don’t like to play them.
If someone, who is not yet working at Perficient Latin America, asked me why should I start working at Perficient Latin America? I would tell them:
