Perficient Minneapolis colleagues spent a recent Saturday morning enjoying Minnesota’s peak fall colors at a local apple orchard. Plentiful rain and lots of sunshine this past summer created perfect conditions for vibrant fall foliage.
The weekend outing gathered together nearly 40 colleagues and their family members. The youngest visitors rushed to climb on the hay ride or explore the corn maze while the older ones got a little competitive at the apple sling shot.
The orchard featured local food merchants, one of which was a bratwurst stand that served a side of homemade apple kraut. For those with a sweet tooth, October’s low morning temperatures were made more tolerable with hot cider and apple fritters. At noon, a local band began playing live music, transforming the venue into entertainment epicenter for all ages.
Before heading home, the team picked their own apples in the orchard. There were plenty of everyone’s favorite Honeycrisp apples, developed by the University of Minnesota. It’s a great addition to any apple pie, and as such encouraged some colleagues to share their secret apple pie recipes.
Team outings such as this one are a great way for our colleagues to spend quality time outside of projects and client responsibilities.
