Last week it was announced that IBM and Finland’s largest airline, Finnair, have established a five year partnership to deliver new digital services to execute a better and more superior customer experience. They will continue to utilize Finnair’s IT department to transform the airline’s current IT infrastructure into a more flexible, hybrid cloud platform. Nowadays airlines are challenged even more to grow revenue, manage costs and compete for customer loyalty. Finnair’s core growth strategy requires delivering a unique and superior customer experience, digitalization and achieving world-class operations. The key to this is having world class IT services and infrastructures to enable these strategies. IBM will help Finnair achieve these goals by establishing a new Cloud Platform that act as a foundation for the airline in support of these growth initiatives. The Finnair Cloud Platform will not only integrate commercial and operational services but will maximize the hybrid cloud environment to help support the airline’s business goals. Finnair will also be able to utilize IBM Watson capabilities improve employee productivity by enabling agents to find responses/solutions to customer needs in a faster manner as well as giving employees online, intelligent self-help tools for locating information.
