How do I change how my Hyperion Workspace Menus are displayed?

Help! My Menus in Hyperion Workspace are crammed on top of one another!!

Disclaimer – If stacked menus don’t bug you, this blog is not for you.

True story – the other day I logged into a client’s workspace and my drop down menus were all on top of each other! My colleague was also having the same issue and for the life of me, I could NOT remember off the top of my head how to fix it. I had seen this before and it was a super simple fix, but I still could not remember. If you’re like me, you can’t rest or focus on anything else until you “fix this problem”. I’ll give credit where credit is due here – my colleague found the solution before I did, but I thought it might be nice to share this with the rest of the world.

If your menus in Workspace look like this and it drives you crazy, keep reading….

I like my menus to look like this, where they show expanded off to the side….

This is NOT a workspace issue. It’s an Internet Explorer (IE) setting. And, let me tell you, that setting is a pesky little thing to find!

On your IE menu bar, go to Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Custom Level
OR you can get to Internet Options this way
Internet Options

Find the setting that says Allow script-initiated windows without size or position constraints, Choose Enable, then click OK and OK again to exit out of that window and voila!, the “problem” is solved!
