The excitement and momentum from the fall 2014 announcement of Perficient’s new domestic delivery center (DDC) in Lafayette, LA, carried right into the start of operations there this year.
Perficient announced the establishment of the center during a news conference in September, and the doors officially opened in November. Colleagues began working in the space in January.
“It’s been exciting,” said general manager Mary-Beth Ostasz (pictured above center).
The DDC augments Perficient’s offshore delivery centers in India and China, further optimizing Perficient’s global network and comprehensive technology, delivery management and industry vertical expertise across North America.
“At the end of the day, what we’re looking to do is help clients optimize global delivery to make sure they have the right people in the right place at the right time,” Mary-Beth said. “We offer clients work during U.S. business hours but also the follow-the-sun model 24/7 when needed.”
With the addition of the domestic delivery center, Perficient adds capabilities and improved service levels that cover the entire spectrum of the software development lifecycle. Projects can include:
- Up-front business analysis using leading-edge visualization techniques and high fidelity prototyping
- Software development using a wide range of platforms from Perficient’s enterprise partners such as IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and Salesforce.com
- Quality assurance and testing
- Up to 24×7 support services through a managed service offering called SupportNet
Perficient spent several months carefully assessing multiple markets and options across the United States for the build-out of the DDC, and Lafayette emerged as the ideal location.
“Lafayette’s educated workforce and proximity to several universities were factors, as were the innovative programs established by supportive local and state leaders focused on economic growth,” said Kevin Sheen, general manager of global delivery for Perficient.
Mary-Beth said she’s enjoyed working in Lafayette. “It’s very community-centric. The people really love where they come from.”
During the September news conference, Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal expressed his excitement for the new center and welcomed Perficient to the community.
“We’re partners now,” Jindal said. “Their success is our success.”
