Meet Mark Shen, Lead Technical Consultant
Describe your job and what you do in your everyday work.
I lead the local development team to work collaboratively with multiple global teams to deliver high-quality software solutions to our clients. I also wear different hats that allow me to serve clients as a full-stack developer and provide Agile recommendations to teams.
Who is someone you admire and why?
Cao Cao, courtesy name Mengde, who was a Chinese warlord, statesman, and poet. Though he remains a controversial historical figure and is often portrayed as a merciless tyrant in subsequent literature, he has also been praised as a brilliant ruler, military genius, and great poet with unrivalled charisma who treated his subordinates like his family.
What is your favorite Perficient Value and why?
My favorite Perficient value is Clients. Simply put, happy clients mean a happy Perficient. We satisfy our clients when we consistently drive value, which results in more work to make Perficient better.
Do you have a favorite book or podcast?
My favorite book is “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” by Stephen R. Covey. I’m a big fan of his idea of, “begin with the end in mind.” I don’t have a favorite podcast, but I love to taste different podcasts in different genres, especially in tech or travel-related ones.
What is something you’ve learned that you want to share with others?
There is always a solution somewhere, so keep trying, and remember that your Perficient colleagues are always there to support you. Be an active team player, and you’ll have the key to any success.
