IBM just published their tuning guide for WebSphere Portal 8.0. There have been lots of improvements made to Portal 8, especially in re-architecting the JCR database for WCM. If you have a Portal 8.0 installation or are planning to implement Portal 8.0, this tuning guide should be a must read for your team.
The tuning guide is over 130 pages long and covers just about every area you could think of to tune. It also covers WCM, database, http server, and OS tuning. I’m not aware of any other portal vendor with this extensive of a guide to portal tuning. To highlight the amount of information in the guide, as well as highlight all the areas of tuning you can perform on Portal, I’ve listed the 32 tables included in the guide below.
