I’m thrilled to introduce a panelist for our first SharePoint Women in Technology Panel at 10.30am PST on Monday October 12th at the Perficient booth at the SharePoint Conference in Anaheim, CA. This panelist is a long-time Twitter & in real life buddy of mine as we both participate in both the SharePoint & Healthcare Twitter Communities. Please meet Marie-Michelle Strah PhD aka @cyberslate.
Marie-Michelle Strah, PhD (AKA @cyberslate) is an enterprise architect based in the Washington DC area specializing in Microsoft technologies in the Government 2.0 and Health 2.0 spaces. She has over 15 years experience in research and development, systems architecture, enterprise architecture and program management and has been working with SharePoint since the 2003 days where she learned to stretch the envelope of capabilities. Michelle’s areas of expertise are information security, SOA, change management, application lifecycle management and healthcare information technology. She’s been a regular speaker at national and regional Microsoft conferences (Best Practices Conference, Microsoft Convergence,SharePoint Saturdays and user groups) as well as at several healthcare information technology events (including the recent virtual Kaiser Permanente Blogger’s Roundtable) and is proud to be a member of the #HIT100.
Michelle is particularly aware of the intersections of gender and technology and is especially proud to support women in technology through both her professional work and advocacy (you can find her online as well as American Women Veterans @USWomenVeterans and in person as a member of Regina Holliday’s The Walking Gallery). In 2010 Michelle was a founding member of Women in SharePoint as well as co-founder with Janis Hall of the first local SharePoint user group in the US devoted specifically to women in technology, Women in SharePoint DC. Women in SharePoint DC has hosted over 20 events, received 8 corporate sponsorships and in 2011 merged with Federal and DoD SharePoint User Group to become the largest group of its kind in the country.
