What about the Private Cloud

So I’ve heard reference to the private cloud but hadn’t thought too much about it until recently.  Of course, you only get jogged when you see an example of you are a true visionary.  I’m more along the lines of the former.  So I saw a case study of First Citizens Banks using IBM’s WebSphere Private cloud to really enhance his deployment time, scalability and uptime.  If you can deploy mutiple JVM’s / applications on a cloud then WebSphere Portal scales easily and as long as the cloud itself supports HA, you are pretty far along with your support.  I can’t say I know enough about this but I’ve been really impressed with the lowering costs in getting fairly complex technology up quickly and up in such a way that they will stay up.  I don’t know what other companies are offering private cloud services but it’s probably worth looking into for your underlying architecture.
