In this edition of “People of Perficient,” we introduce you to Renu Hall, a Delivery Director in our Houston business unit. With an impressive journey that spans continents, industries, and a passion for problem-solving, Renu’s story is a testament to the dynamic nature of our team. So, check out our interview with Renu below and hear all about her story!
“Walk me through your career journey, where did you start, and how did you get to where you are now?”
What most people don’t know about Renu is that she was born in Tanzania, Africa, and her life’s journey has taken her across the globe. Renu began her professional career during her undergraduate program in computer engineering in India, laying the foundation for her expertise in the tech industry. Following her undergraduate studies, she moved to the United States to complete her Master’s program in computer science at Texas A&M University. Renu’s love for Texas started here and has remained unwavering ever since. In addition to her Master’s degree, she recently completed a post-graduate program at The University of Texas at Austin, further enhancing her knowledge and skills!
After earning her Master’s degree, Renu began her career as a software developer in the Houston Oil and Gas sector at Western Geophysical. Her journey in the tech industry took her to Schlumberger, where she excelled as a Senior Developer. Following this, her career took an exciting turn when she joined Access Sciences, an Information Management consulting company based in Houston. Renu found her passion for consulting here, as it allowed her to engage with customers, identify areas for improvement, and craft tailored solutions to address their needs. She truly enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with clients, define strategies, and execute solutions. All in all, the problem-solving component that goes with consulting is what excited her.
Renu spent 16 years at Access Sciences before joining Perficient in June 2023 as a Delivery Director. In her role at Perficient, she provides oversight for key clients in the Houston area, leading project teams to
deliver successful outcomes. Renu’s responsibilities include supporting project teams, serving as an escalation point for any issues, and maintaining strong client relationships. In this role, she is truly committed to helping clients transform their organizations.
While discussing Renu’s position, one thing that stuck out was when she stated: “My passion lies in delivering solutions that are both useful and usable.” That said, her focus on creating value for clients is a driving force in her career at Perficient.
What are some of your favorite takeaways and memories so far from being with Perficient?
When asked about her experience at Perficient so far, Renu expressed her excitement about working alongside talented, capable, and hardworking individuals. She finds her colleagues and peers to be a unique and invaluable aspect of Perficient’s culture, making her work all the more enjoyable.
One of Renu’s favorite memories at Perficient is when the local Houston team volunteered together to support a local food bank. They spent an afternoon assembling packages for distribution to the Houston area, a heartwarming experience that allowed Renu to connect with colleagues from multiple business units while giving back to their community.
What can we find you doing outside of the typical 9-5?
Aside from watching new movies, reading, and spending quality time with friends and family, she loves to garden. Renu is an avid gardener and focuses on native gardens and landscaping to support the local bees, butterflies, and birds. So, if you’re ever curious about why your plants aren’t flourishing, or which ones best attract pollinators, Renu is the person to turn to for valuable gardening advice!
Renu’s journey and her passion for delivering useful and usable solutions make her a valuable asset to Perficient.
