IBM released version 9 of IBM Digital Experience including WebSphere Portal and Web Content Manager on 12/22/2016. This builds upon version 8.5 as CF 13. There are two important benefits to version 9:
WebSphere Application Server V9.0 support
All version 9.0 offerings now can run on IBM WebSphere Application Server 9.0. This gives customers the flexibility to run on the latest application server and use JDK 8. In addition to the latest version of WebSphere, version 9 also supports IBM DB2 V11.0 and MicrosoftTM SQL Server 2016.
IBM Watson Content Hub Integration
IBM’s new Content as a Service offering, IBM Watson Content Hub, can now easily be integrated with WebSphere Portal using the Asset Picker portlet. This lets you implement content in hybrid could or full cloud scenarios.
Development Tooling
Easier to use templates and tooling are included allowing faster time to market with less development effort. This includes updated integration assets to IBM Connections using the Digital Data Connector. Additionally, integration with IBM Watson Commerce becomes easier with drag and drop Commerce components for surfacing Commerce features within IBM Digital Experience.
