Beyond reaching customers and driving bottom-line revenue, much of the battle for staying competitive today is adjusting to the changing winds of technology. For us at Perficient, it’s all about ensuring our customers understand the benefits and forces driving digital transformation, including that of cloud computing technologies. Whether an organization is choosing to enter the public, hybrid, or cloud-native space, taking the steps necessary is important for still having open doors two or three decades from now.
As we enter this critical stage of business, data is beginning to trickle out on just how organizations benefit from digital transformation. In a recent report from The Economist’s Intelligent Unit (EIU), nearly 72% of executives saw resilience as a growing priority over the next three years with cloud migration as a key activity. The survey was conducted with those working in the European and North American regions, in-line with IDC surveys that place cloud as one of the top priorities for 2016 and beyond.
Perhaps the most important part of the survey was how executives perceived their state of business. 77% of executives believed that cloud placed them ahead in organizational resilience and another 70% commented that their organization is a leader in cloud adoption also say they are more profitable than the competition, compared to 26% of those who had yet to adopt the cloud.
As the cost of cloud technology continues to decline and firms innovate on security, migration will become an increasingly attractive option. If your organization is looking to make it through the holiday season or for the next 20, isn’t it time for you to at least explore what cloud can do for you?
