The numbers prove that this is the case, with surveys from Black Duck Software showing nearly three-quarters of organizations deploying open source and 65% of organizations also using open source technologies for production infrastructure.

We’ve discussed this characteristic before. As digital technologies expand and consumers ask for more, the landscape evolves. More so than ever, customers demand more from developers, and developers must respond faster or risk losing their customers. In our research, we have discovered that early movers benefit the greatest with unprecedented valuations, while those who wait are at a greater risk of falling behind.

Traditional IT often means costs and stability are placed over potential and innovation. As cloud begins to take hold in the market, IT leaders have developed a different mindset that blends the two together while moving ahead in the market.
