Everytime I read another article on mobile statistics I am more and more amazed. This article at mobiThinking has some pretty amazing statistics covering mobile commerce, SMS, subscribers, and much more. Some of the key statistics that really jumped out at me are:
- Google makes about $1 billion annually in mobile ad revenues.
- There are 5.3 billion subscribers worldwide which is over 3/4 of the world population.
- Over 6.1 trillion SMS messages were delivered in 2010.
- It is projected that a billion users will access financial systems via mobile by 2015.
- Over 300,000 mobile apps have been developed but 1/4 downloaded are never used more than once.
