Additionally, the team participated in the Kidney Walk, where they exceeded their fundraising goal of $3,000, demonstrating their dedication to supporting important causes and making a difference in the lives of others.

Perficient has collaborated with the Mark Cuban Foundation over the past few years to offer high school students the opportunity to participate in free Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamps. Detroit is one of the locations where these immersive bootcamps are hosted, introducing students to the world of AI through educational seminars, interactive lessons, and hands-on lab exercises. Our Detroit colleagues play a critical role in these camps, volunteering their time and expertise to guide students through the curriculum. This collaboration not only provides valuable learning experiences for students but also opens their eyes to new career possibilities in technology.

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month in October, the LiveWell ERG organized its first Global Wellness Challenge with a mission to foster healthy habits and lifestyle choices.   • Cultural Connections ERGtakes our colleagues on a journey in exploring, understanding, and advancing the cultural differences that help shape our workforce and perspectives.  The group’s mission is to cultivate a culture of inclusivity and allyship throughout Perficient around the globe. It’s a group that celebrates multiculturalism. 
  • LiveWell ERGaims to support colleagues in achieving better overall well-being. More specifically, the group aims to support employees with their overall wellness in three key areas: Health (mental, physical, emotional), Relationships (work, friendships, family), and Finance (personal finance, retirement, life event planning). 
  • Perficient’s Giving ERG is made up of colleagues who are dedicated to growing and celebrating philanthropy. Through the Giving ERG, we aim to inspire action and generosity while making an individual impact on the world and in the communities where we live and work. 
  • Women in Technology (WiT) ERGis an active and passionate community where women and their allies can share ideas, find resources, and support fellow colleagues. The group’s goals are to promote educational resources and career growth for the women of Perficient and facilitate networking and connection for women, peers, and allies.  
  • Generative AI IGaims to drive innovation, connection, and community with Perficient’s clients, colleagues, partners, and investors about the emergence of generative AI tools and capabilities, and the impact these technologies have on businesses today.  

Community Outreach

Founded in partnership with Strayer University’s Hackbright Academy and DevMountain, the program is a fully funded, 16-week custom-coding bootcamp that is creating relevant learning experiences and preparing students for the workforce. With more than 180 graduates since its launch in 2020, including many women and minorities, the Bright Paths Program helps participants develop the skills needed to begin a successful career in technology.

Participants in Perficient’s Techie Masters team are empowered to realize their potential to change the world through their passion for technology. With our support and partnership with the Girl Powered Program, the team received hands-on experience, training resources, and educational materials to help them build a robot for a global robotics competition.

Our colleagues are changing the world through their passion for mentoring the next generation of technology leaders. We’re supporting high school students in underserved communities by hosting AI Bootcamps in collaboration with the Mark Cuban Foundation. During these bootcamps, students learn the fundamentals of AI and machine learning through educational seminars, lessons, and interactive lab exercises. So far, we’ve hosted three bootcamps in Dallas and Houston, and we’re expanding the program in fall 2023 with AI Bootcamps in St. Louis, Detroit, Dallas, and Houston.

In addition to the resources above, colleagues can also use our Career Development Planning Workbook to better understand themselves, explore career options at Perficient, and set strategic, attainable career goals. All Perficient colleagues also have access to Perficient Academy, our on-demand learning platform with training materials they can access to develop their skills at their own pace. With content created by Perficient subject matter experts and third-party partners like Adobe, Salesforce, and Udemy, colleagues can find training material that match their professional interests.

How did we win?

Every year, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and employment research firm Energage come together to determine the top workplaces in metro Atlanta. The award recognizes leading companies in both regional and national programs across North America and recognizes the most progressive companies based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage. The survey gathers responses to 24 factors covering seven areas, including organizational health factors relating to workplace culture. Through this method, this recognition is based solely on feedback gathered directly from employees, ensuring the results are as accurate as possible. Perficient is 1 of only 175 companies in Atlanta to be recognized on our commitment to our employees.

We are excited to announce that Perficient has once again been named a 2022 Top Workplace in Michigan by The Detroit Free Press! This is the fourth consecutive year that our Detroit office has received this recognition (2019, 2020, 2021) – proof that our team is fully embracing and living out the Perficient culture.

The winning companies were announced in the November 20th edition of the Detroit Free Press, and representatives from each company were invited to attend an awards dinner on November 15th.

How are Top Workplaces Determined?

One of the coolest parts about earning a Top Workplace award is that the recognition is based solely on feedback gathered directly from our employees. The award recognizes leading companies in both regional and national programs across North America and recognizes the most progressive companies based on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by Energage. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 culture drivers that are critical to the success of any organization. These include alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few!

So What Makes Us a Top Workplace?

A key part of the culture in our Detroit office is the team’s commitment to its community. The team is always looking for ways to give back and get involved, and 2022 has been one busy year for them!

Bright Paths Program

Bright Paths 3This past October marked the end of the third cohort of Perficient’s Bright Paths Program in Detroit. This program is a free, award-winning, custom coding boot camp. It is designed to advance STEM education and career opportunities for underrepresented constituencies and communities, run in partnership with Strayer University’s learning paths. Several members of our Detroit team are heavily involved with Bright Paths, participating as mentors and teachers to the students. Three cohorts have been offered in Detroit since its inception, delivering dozens of graduates into the workforce. Several of these graduates enjoyed the Perficient culture so much that they are now Perficient Detroit employees themselves!

MCWT

The Detroit team is also heavily engaged with the Michigan Council of Women in Technology (MCWT), earning Platinum Partner level in 2022. MCWT is a multi-faceted philanthropic organization committed to engaging current and future technology leaders. Perficient supports this organization through yearly donations and event sponsorships that help fund its goals, mission and values.

Hands-On Volunteering

Throughout the year, our team enjoys being hands-on with their community impact as well. In May 2022, the team took part in the Kidney Walk at the Detroit Zoo, supporting the National Kidney Foundation. Our team raised a whopping $3,194, putting us in the top 3 largest donor companies in attendance.

Detroit Culture Event 2

This past September, our Detroit office participated in a company-wide Hunger Action Month contest that was led by Perficient’s Giving ERG (Employee Resource Group). Offices around the country competed to see who could make the largest impact in their area through food donations, advocacy email sends, and volunteering. The Detroit team was thrilled to participate in this contest and helped Perficient reach an overall total of 5,624 meals that were donated to local food banks.

Most recently, some of our Detroit colleagues went above and beyond to help their city by volunteering their time with Life Remodeled. Life Remodeled focuses on the intentional and equitable revitalization of Detroit neighborhoods distinguished by their significant need and radical hope. Volunteers participated in Life Remodeled’s 6-day project where they cleaned up blight from yards of vacant properties in Detroit, specifically the 150 blocks around Cooley high school.

Embracing Our Community

Perficient does a lot for the communities we are located in, with our Dallas office being especially involved locally.

Img 3126Back in 2019, we announced a partnership with the Dallas Mavericks NBA Franchise that included courtside and digital signage along with home game tickets throughout the season. Many of our Dallas colleagues are avid Mavericks fans and partnering with the team is a fun perk each year. And let’s face it – it’s pretty cool seeing your company’s logo courtside too!

Another huge part of the culture in our Dallas office is the team’s dedication to advancing STEM education opportunities within the metropolitan area. Over the past few years, our team has partnered with the Mark Cuban Foundation to host Artificial Intelligence (AI) Bootcamps for high school students, at no cost to the student. These bootcamps introduce students to the concepts of AI through educational seminars, interactive lessons, and lab exercises. Our Dallas colleagues are invited to volunteer for sessions to share their expertise and be hands-on with making a difference in these students’ lives.

Perficient’s Bright Paths Program is also launching a new training camp in Dallas, furthering our support of STEM education. The Bright Paths Program is a coding bootcamp and software engineering program designed to equip students from underrepresented communities with the skills to start their journey toward a career in technology. We have had massive success with this program in Detroit and Minneapolis recently, and our Dallas team is ecstatic to be supporting the program and expanding our company’s impact within the Dallas-Fort Worth community.

Check out some of the other events our team has supported in 2022 including a Toyota SWARM Hackathon and a Virtual Design-a-Thon hosted by the Mark Cuban Foundation.

Celebrating Our People

While the Dallas team has a lot going on outside of the office that brings them together, there is no shortage of internal culture events for this group. Dallas colleagues are invited to attend a Town Hall every month to cover company updates, colleague shoutouts, client project highlights, recent wins and successes and more. The Dallas team is always adding a fun factor to add some excitement. Food and beverages are provided for colleagues who join in-person, and a themed happy hour follows the meeting.

For example, this past summer, the team hosted a Luau-themed happy hour and folks were invited to wear matching attire and use themed Teams backgrounds if joining virtually. Most recently, the team hosted a costume contest during the October town hall that featured lots of creativity and some friendly competition among participants.

Speaking of competition – our Dallas office also participated in a company-wide Hunger Action Month contest in September that was led by our Giving ERG (Employee Resource Group). Offices around the country competed to see who could make the largest impact in their area through food donations, advocacy email sends, and volunteering. The Dallas team went all-in on this contest and helped Perficient reach an overall total of 5,624 meals that were donated to local food banks. Several colleagues made an additional contribution by volunteering their time to LovePacs in Dallas to further the team’s impact.

Challenging and Championing Our Colleagues

Our Dallas team makes it a priority to share our stories and our gratitude for one another, both in person and virtually. Each month, in our town hall meeting, local leadership recognizes “shoutouts” from colleague to their peers for a job well done. Employees are applauded and appreciated in person for their contributions. Additionally, Dallas colleagues at all levels are invited to stand up and tell their story about a unique colleague experience, a special project, or a client project they’ve completed.

The Perficient Dallas team is one-of-a-kind, and we are proud to be called a 2022 Top Workplace. This win adds to our growing list of achievements which can be found in full on our awards and recognitions page. We can’t wait to see what this group does next!

Meet the Award Winning St. Louis Team

As Perficient’s global headquarters, our St. Louis team is over 230 employees strong and continuing to grow. It’s no surprise that this group is actively involved both in and out of the office and ready to make a positive impact. That said, if they’re not cheering on one of our various sports partners or planning social and culture events, they’re helping out where they can.

The team supports a variety of service initiatives. Giving back to the community that we live and work is an important aspect to our team. For instance, spreading holiday cheer at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital is a tradition for our colleagues. Light Up Glennon invites the St. Louis community to sing carols, shine lights, and spread cheer to patients. In addition, the team hosts numerous drives to support local charities including drives for food, pet supplies, and back to school supplies. Above all the team is always ready to roll up their sleeves and get involved with their community.

During the height of the COVID pandemic, the team maintained their strong company culture in a 100% virtual environment. Now, as the team transitions to a hybrid work model, in-person activities are coming back. The team is already planning a variety of events and colleagues are excited to see what’s in store for the 2022 year.
