At Perficient Hyderabad, excellence goes beyond the desk – into every serve, every strategy and every smash. This year’s Sports Fest brought together sharp minds and swift reflexes in three exciting events: Chess, Table Tennis and Badminton Doubles.

From strategic battles to high-energy rallies, our players gave it their all. Let’s relive the highlights and honour those who stood out!

Spotlight on Our Champions: Winner & Runner-Ups

Here’s to the stars who rose to the challenge and made their mark. Their performance, passion and perseverance earned them well-deserved recognition.

Beyond the Podium: The True Spirit of Play

While the medals were a highlight, the real victory was in the companionship, the cheers and the shared moments. From spontaneous coaching to friendly rivalries, the Sports Fest reminded us that play brings people together in the best ways.

Whether it was a calculated checkmate or last-minute smash, the spirit of play was alive in every match and every moment.

And let’s not forget the sidelines – where teammates turned into cheerleaders, advice flowed freely, and laughter echoed between matches. It wasn’t just about winning; it was about showing up, supporting each other and having fun.

Nothing But Net: Perficient Scores With Minnesota Timberwolves Partnership https://blogs.perficient.com/2023/10/04/nothing-but-net-perficient-scores-with-minnesota-timberwolves-partnership/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2023/10/04/nothing-but-net-perficient-scores-with-minnesota-timberwolves-partnership/#comments Wed, 04 Oct 2023 19:54:49 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=346353

Following the recent announcement of Perficient’s partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves NBA team, I sat down with Perficient’s Senior Vice President of Marketing Bill Davis to discover more about our new partnership. Continue reading to hear his perspective and learn how we’re making a difference in the Minneapolis region.

Hi, Bill. I appreciate your time today. Could you share more about Perficient’s exciting new NBA partnership?

Bill TimberwolvesHey, Madison. Thanks for this. Yes, we’re really excited to announce this partnership with the Minnesota Timberwolves. For more than two decades, Perficient has had a strong presence in the region. The Twin Cities and the entire area has a tremendous business culture – there are 15 Fortune 500 companies headquartered in Minneapolis, for example. We’re talking about important enterprises like Target, Best Buy, 3M, US Bank, and more. And we’ve been partnered with many of the biggest in the community for years, driving innovation and customer experiences through digital transformation. We’ve got hundreds of employees in the city as well. It’s a great place to live and work – great culture, tons to do outdoors – just make sure to have your heated parka ready to roll a few months a year.

And, this partnership adds to our growing group of brand ambassadors, which include other great teams – the Dallas Mavericks of the NBA, Atlanta United of the MLS, St. Louis Cardinals of the MLB, and the St. Louis Blues of the NHL. And of course, everyone’s favorite Discovery Channel Battlebot, Minotaur!

As you can see, we make a variety of investments that span focus areas, markets, and functions. With these strong partners, Perficient is reaching fans across the globe while showcasing our brand and sharing our love for competition and performance.

Wow, it sounds like we have quite a few fantastic sports partnerships. Why did Perficient choose to partner with the Minnesota Timberwolves specifically?

Several reasons. For starters, we’re really excited about the team and the momentum they have in the league and the market. Anthony Edwards is on the verge of superstardom and surrounded by other great athletes like Karl-Anthony Towns, Rudy Gobert, and more. New ownership is coming in – Marc Lore, an e-commerce visionary and, of course, baseball legend Alex Rodriguez. The excitement for the team and where it’s headed is palpable – ticket sales are up, routine sellouts, TV ratings are up – everything’s headed in the right direction.

But what’s really interesting is that they play at the Target Center, which is literally right next door to our office there. They’re our next-door neighbors turned partners. You can leave our office and be in their building in 30 seconds. That proximity creates all sorts of opportunities for us to get creative as well as make a difference by participating in events, building close relationships with the franchise, and of course, being able to readily host our executive clients and prospects at a game easily. Meet us at the office, drop your stuff off and let’s go to the game type of fun. And finally, great people – everyone we met through this process in their organization demonstrated genuine interest and enthusiasm in working with Perficient and crafting a partnership that will be valuable to all of us.

Minneapolis is also a great market for Perficient with plenty of future growth opportunity in STEM. Since launching Perficient’s Bright Paths Program in partnership with Strayer University’s Hackbright Academy and DevMountain, we have helped advance STEM education and career opportunities for underrepresented communities and constituencies, with one of our Bright Paths cohorts taking place in Minneapolis. We’re proud to continue inspiring students to explore a career in technology.

What does our partnership look like on and off the basketball court?

Microsoftteams Image (10)Our brand will of course be prominent. Whether you are watching the game on television or at the arena, you’ll see Perficient front and center.

We’ll also be creating experiential moments. Our Perficient ‘Honorary Kids Captain Program’ will deliver an exclusive, on-court pre-game experience for select young Timberwolves fans. This is similar to programs we have with other teams and markets, and I love seeing it expand here.

How will this partnership make a difference for our community?

We’re big believers of giving back, making a difference, and doing what we can to make a positive impact each and every day. The Timberwolves is an organization that cares deeply about the community, and through our partnership, we are already having conversations about teaming up for volunteerism opportunities in Minnesota.

We have the potential to greatly impact lives through organized volunteer efforts and our commitment to giving back to the greater community.

Thank you for this great discussion. I’m looking forward to watching our partnership with the Timberwolves come to life. Is there anything more that you would like to share?

Thank you. Recently, we celebrated this exciting new venture with a party on the Timberwolves practice courts. Several of our Minneapolis colleagues worked on their free throws, three-point shots, and other basketball skills. Based on what I saw, we’ll leave the basketball to the Timberwolves going forward and just stay focused on enabling the world’s leading enterprises and biggest brands!

But it’s certainly an exciting day and we’re thrilled to get going with what I know is going to be one of the NBA’s most exciting teams to come for many years.

Perficient Extends Our Hole-In-One Partnership with LPGA Golfer Morgan Pressel https://blogs.perficient.com/2023/01/23/perficient-extends-our-hole-in-one-partnership-with-lpga-golfer-morgan-pressel/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2023/01/23/perficient-extends-our-hole-in-one-partnership-with-lpga-golfer-morgan-pressel/#respond Mon, 23 Jan 2023 15:14:29 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=326148

Perficient is excited to extend our partnership with Morgan Pressel, LPGA professional golfer and NBC Golf Channel analyst. We’re proud to partner with a golf pro like Morgan who, in addition to displaying Perficient on her apparel, shares our drive, determination, and commitment to excellence.

Check out the video below for a special message from Morgan about our partnership.

We announced our partnership with Morgan in 2020, and we have developed amazing collaboration opportunities to date that will continue to grow with our partnership.

We were inspired by Morgan’s track record of consistent and dependable performances on the course. Morgan went pro at the age of 17 and qualified for the Women’s U.S. Open at only 12 years old, making her the youngest to qualify at the time. She has four professional wins under her belt since joining the LPGA Tour in 2006.

Like Perficient, Morgan knows when to make necessary adjustments and how to move forward to drive the best results. Recently, she has shifted gears from a competitive golf career to lean more into her role as a lead analyst and on-course reporter for the Golf Channel and NBC Sports.

Alignment between Perficient and Morgan extends beyond our commitment to excellence – we also share a commitment to giving back. Morgan founded the Morgan Pressel Foundation to further the fight against cancer, particularly breast cancer. Perficient is committed to giving back to make the world a better place, and we are proud to have a partner like Morgan who so passionately shares that commitment.

She has returned as the featured moderator for our semiannual Women in Digital event where she facilitates conversations amongst women in technology about everything from career growth to work life balance and everything in between. In our most recent event, Perficient made a $20 donation split between the Morgan Pressel Foundation and the Pink Ribbon Girls for every event registration.

Just as Morgan has dominated in her golf game, Perficient shares the same high level of drive, focus, and determination to lead digital change to improve our business and make a difference for our clients. She embodies the values that inspire us to succeed in all that we do, and we’re honored to have her represent our organization on the course and beyond.

CRN Names Liz Stuart to the 2022 CRN Women of the Channel List https://blogs.perficient.com/2022/05/17/crn-names-liz-stuart-to-the-2022-crn-women-of-the-channel-list/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2022/05/17/crn-names-liz-stuart-to-the-2022-crn-women-of-the-channel-list/#respond Tue, 17 May 2022 17:10:46 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=309710

CRN recently recognized five Perficient colleagues in their 2022 CRN Women of the Channel list. The annual program honors some of the most influential women channel leaders for their incredible accomplishments, strategic vision, thought leadership, and channel advocacy.

We previously celebrated Liza Sisler, partner marketing and alliances director, for her inclusion in the 2022 list and the Power 70 Solutions Provider list. Today, we’re excited to profile Liz Stuart, alliances director, who was named in the Women of the Channel list for the fifth time.

Stuart Liz Perficient“I am honored to be a recipient of the CRN Women of the Channel recognition. When I started in the channel over 20 years ago, I did not know yet that I would have a village of women who, like me, would go on to build their careers in the channel. I now work alongside a leadership team that champions and challenges me to stretch beyond my imagination. That’s influenced my approach when leading teams of future leaders as they navigate their own career growth. It’s inspiring to hear their great ideas and innovations while taking my channel expertise to develop initiatives that drive success for our teams, partners, clients, and future colleagues.”

Here are some of the insights Liz shared with CRN to receive this recognition. Visit CRN to learn more about Liz and the 2022 CRN Women of the Channel list.

How have you personally helped advance Perficient’s channel business over the past year?

I helped advance Perficient’s channel business by taking a people-first approach centered around hiring a team that brought new perspectives and curiosity to collaborative partnering. I fostered an environment that opened doors to new multi-partner collaboration on solutions that have helped our customers digitally transform their businesses. I like finding the synergies of complementary partnerships and teams to build unique go-to-market strategies that meet our clients’ broad, yet specific needs.

What’s one thing you love about your job and why?

I love that my work touches all aspects of our business, and that I get to work with people across the world within our organization. My contributions to Perficient are impacting the work we do for our customers, and it’s helping my team grow their careers through professional development. Being connected to people is essential to me, and I get to do it every day.

Liz Stuart Family HawaiiWhat goals have you set for your own professional development this year?

This year, I want to focus on learning new things, recognizing what I do best, and growing. I am reading again to inspire myself and focus on leadership and team topics. I am also committed to practicing and learning how to golf. I’m excited to improve my golfing skills because it will get me outdoors, spending time with my family, while also helping me refine my focus, follow through, and discipline to push through challenging situations.

How do you find motivation when you really need it?

I am most motivated when I am learning and have clear goals. As such, my focus during 2022 is on learning, specifically geared toward hitting my personal and professional goals. So far, I have picked up reading about Agile Leadership and have practiced my driving and putting on the golf course.

What advice would you give to women just entering the channel?

No matter where you are in your career, you always have value. Your ideas can spark innovation and movements, so never hesitate to share your thoughts and ideas. The channel is evolving so quickly. Don’t worry about not having previous channel experience, focus instead on the future and how you can materially impact or influence growth.

Thursday, April 7, was a day full of big events for some of Perficient’s sports partnerships. With the Cardinals Opening Day, The Masters, and the BattleBots World Championship all taking place on the same day, Perficient’s brand received some major exposure across the world.

St. Louis Cardinals Opening Day

Baseball is part of what makes St. Louis the city it is. The camaraderie it brings is something that’s unique to the city, and with Perficient headquartered in St. Louis, we are proud to have a partnership with the St. Louis Cardinals.

Our partnership with the Cardinals was on full display during Opening Day. Prior to the Opening Day game each year, the St. Louis Cardinals hold a traditional pregame ceremony introducing the current year’s players for the team, honoring the Cardinals Hall of Famers, and showcasing the infamous Budweiser Clydesdales. This tradition starts in the outfield right next to Perficient’s wall sign, prominently broadcasting Perficient’s name throughout the ceremony and every home game this season.

The ceremony is a memorable tradition to kick off the baseball season, and now that the season is underway, thousands of fans are returning to Busch Stadium. Fans can take in the scenic views of the game, the stadium, and the St. Louis skyline from the Perficient Perch seating area. Perficient is also a proud partner of the Perficient Red Jacket Club, an all-inclusive experience that highlights and honors the Cardinals Hall of Famers.

PGA Masters Tournament

Widely recognized as the most prestigious golf event in the world, the Masters Tournament kicked off on April 7 at the historic Augusta National Golf Club. Only the “masters of golf” make it to this highly coveted tournament, and both Abraham Ancer and Matthew Wolff of Team Perficient qualified to compete. Although neither Abraham or Matthew ended up with the green jacket this year, seeing both golfers compete was a source of pride for all Perficient colleagues, and we’re eager to watch them continue on the PGA Tour.

Our Team Perficient partnership with Abraham and Matthew, in addition to LPGA golfer and NBC Golf Channel commentator Morgan Pressel, embodies the values that inspire Perficient and our colleagues to succeed in all we do. We’re proud to partner with three golf pros who, in addition to displaying Perficient on their apparel and equipment, share our drive, determination, and commitment to excellence.

BattleBots World Championship Season Finale

The same day as Cardinals Opening Day and The Masters began, one of Perficient’s newest partnerships, RioBotz, the Brazilian-based fighting robot team, and their BattleBots competitor, Minotaur was in full force for the season finale of the BattleBots World Championship. The season finale consisted of three different rounds of fights: the quarterfinals, semifinals, and the championship.

This was the first season Perficient and Minotaur partnered together, and Perficient’s name was proudly displayed on the back of the robot in addition to apparel worn by RioBotz. Minotaur started the season in flames but was undefeated the remainder of the season. The team qualified for the BattleBots World Championship Tournament, where they advanced all the way to the quarterfinals where they lost in a controversial decision that sent shockwaves throughout the BattleBots community. Although Minotaur and RioBotz didn’t take home The Giant Nut Trophy, their grit and determination throughout the season was inspiring, and we can’t wait to cheer them on next season.

A Shared Commitment to Excellence and a Drive for Success

The Cardinals, Team Perficient pro golfers, and Minotaur aren’t Perficient’s only sports partnerships. In addition to the three featured in prime-time last week, we also have stand-out partnerships with NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, NHL’s St. Louis Blues, and, as of April 13, MLS’s Atlanta United.

Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks, owned by Mark Cuban, is well-known for its intense focus on customer experience and deep commitment to the Dallas region. Perficient is growing faster in scale and magnitude than ever before, so our partnership with the Mavericks began at the perfect time. We are happy to sponsor the Mavericks’ Co-Captain of the Game event that takes place before each home game. This program awards one deserving child interested in STEM, ages 5 to 17, to play with and meet the team before each home game. Additionally, we have a full “LED takeover” before the game, and Perficient’s name is directly on the courtside for at least one minute each game.

St. Louis Blues

After the historic 2019 season for the St. Louis Blues, Perficient announced a partnership with the Stanley Cup Champions in 2020. This partnership is consistently on display throughout their games with our logo on the wall behind the visitor’s bench or on the walls surrounding the ice. Even if the opposing team is taking the spotlight, our name is somewhere in sight. Having a partnership with the Blues shows our mutual alignment to being an organization committed to excellence in our area of expertise and within our community.

Atlanta United

Our newest sports partnership is with the Major League Soccer franchise, Atlanta United. A team well-regarded for their commitment to customer experience and focus on their community, we’re looking forward to expanding our brand presence in the Atlanta market. This partnership will include a variety of branding elements throughout the Mercedes-Benz Stadium during Atlanta United games, where we will sponsor the “Coin Toss Kid” at the beginning of each home match. The partnership will also introduce Perficient to the growing world of eSports as the presenting sponsor for Atlanta United’s eMLS player.

Rajan Merchant Builds a Lifelong Career with Perficient https://blogs.perficient.com/2022/02/01/rajan-merchant-builds-a-lifelong-career-with-perficient/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2022/02/01/rajan-merchant-builds-a-lifelong-career-with-perficient/#respond Tue, 01 Feb 2022 20:49:52 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=303915

Individually and collectively, Perficient and our 6,500 global colleagues treasure talent, embrace effort, and reward results. Watching people develop careers within our organization is truly a special experience, and our Growth for Everyone initiative helps identify individual career paths and allows colleagues to pave a career journey to reach their full potential.

We want to tell the stories of our people who are growing alongside our organization. Rajan Merchant, a data solutions director based in Charlotte, North Carolina, has been building his lifelong career with Perficient for the last 20 years. Below, he talks about his role, his newborn son, and his two-decade career in technology.

Describe your job. How do you make a difference for our clients?
In my role as a practice director, I manage our Content Services Platforms practice and work closely with several of our vendor partners including IBM, Hyland, Kofax, and Ephesoft. I wear many hats, but at the end of the day, my job is to ensure that we are delivering client engagement, delighting our clients, helping the business grow, and supporting our teams.

What inspires you to give your best each day?
My newborn son. Now, everything I do is for him, and I want to make sure that I’m giving my best each day so that at the end of the day I can leave work behind and turn my focus to him.

What are some activities you enjoy doing in your free time?
Before our newborn, back when I had free time, my hobbies included running, traveling, reading, and, in the fall, attending Clemson football games (a family tradition going back 40 years). Ever since the baby arrived, my free time is filled with cuddling, feeding, diaper changes, and napping!

What makes you proud to work for Perficient?
I’m proud of the work that we do every day and the team we have here. It’s so cool to see the Perficient logo on Abe Ancer’s hat every Sunday during the PGA Tour coverage. I’m also proud of some of the new initiatives that we have rolled out such as the Women in Tech ERG and the Bright Paths Program.

What is your favorite Perficient memory so far?
There are so many to choose from, but some of my favorite memories have been our community service events here in Charlotte, like picking up trash at our Adopt-A-Highway site and serving lunch at the Men’s Shelter of Charlotte.

What is one of your proudest moments, professionally?
I’ve had a lot of proud moments over my 20-year career, but what makes me the most proud is seeing client feedback that praises our team members for doing great work. As a manager, I love being able to share that feedback with our team and watching the joy they get from having our clients rave about them.

Hats Off to a Champion!

Team Perficient PGA golfer, entrepreneur, Olympic athlete, and now a PGA Tour winner and a World Golf Champion. Abraham Ancer’s new titles come after his first PGA Tour win at the WGC: FedEx St. Jude’s Invitational following a dramatic finish that came down to a single putt.

Read more: Team Perficient Golfer Abraham Ancer to Compete at 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Ancer began the day in fourth at 14 under par and just four strokes behind the leader. No stranger to being in striking distance for a PGA Tour trophy, Ancer has notched four top five finishes so far this year, including a second place finish at the Wells Fargo Championship. The day unfolded in a wild, windy afternoon that saw competitors’ golf balls splash into ponds and out of bounds. Patient and resolute, Ancer kept his nerve and seized the opportunity to close the gap.

“Walking off 16 I couldn’t believe I was tied for the lead,” recalled Ancer. “I felt like I was maybe four strokes behind. You just don’t know what’s going to happen out there, man. It’s crazy.”

Golf: Aug 08 Pga World Golf Championships Fedex St. Jude Invitational

By the time the fourth round of regulation play had concluded, Ancer found himself in a three-way tie for first, igniting a play-off match where all contenders replay the 18th hole. All three players made par and returned to the 18th tee for a second play-off match round. On the second time around, Ancer made a favorable shot from the fairway that put him within a few mere feet of the pin alongside one of his competitors. Ancer ended up sinking his putt to win the cup. He finished the tournament 16 under.

Reflecting back on the drive to the cup, Ancer credited his win to a tried and true virtue in golf, saying “It was definitely a lot of patience…This is really surreal and definitely something I’ve been working towards since I was a little kid. This is a dream.”

Following his win, Ancer rises to sixth in the FedEx Cup and is ranked 11th in the world. He’s only the fourth player from Mexico to win on the PGA Tour and the second to do so in less than a year.

We’re so proud of Ancer’s accomplishments and to have him on Perficient’s team – because his success, like ours, is a testament to his grit, determination, focus, and talent. Join us in congratulating Abraham Ancer, PGA Tour Champion and proud Team Perficient ambassador, on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.

When Perficient announced “Make a December Difference,” our hope was to spread kindness through small acts of generosity. What resulted was an enthusiastic embrace of the initiative by our global colleagues, who shared hundreds of heart-warming stories and photos capturing their generous acts of giving in action.

December DifferenceThat generosity inspired others to spread kindness in their communities in their own ways, including Perficient’s professional sports partnerships.

The St. Louis Blues Make a December Difference

The St. Louis Blues joined in the giving initiative, sharing a video featuring Assistant Coach Steve Ott, Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo, and Radio Analyst Joey Vitale. Our St. Louis Blues partners not only spread kindness through donations of their own, but they encouraged their fans to make a #PRFTDifference.

Matthew Wolff Makes a December Difference

Team Perficient professional golfer Matthew Wolff also joined in on the action, sharing a video challenging his fans and followers to pay it forward and Make a December Difference.

Together, we started a global movement of kindness, proving that small, individual acts of kindness can make a far-reaching positive impact.

LPGA Golf Pro Morgan Pressel Meets with Perficient’s Women in Technology Group https://blogs.perficient.com/2020/12/09/lpga-golf-pro-morgan-pressel-meets-with-perficients-women-in-technology-group/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2020/12/09/lpga-golf-pro-morgan-pressel-meets-with-perficients-women-in-technology-group/#respond Wed, 09 Dec 2020 17:21:47 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=284593

Earlier this year, we were thrilled to sign LPGA pro Morgan Pressel to “Team Perficient” – a lineup of three professional golfers that represent our quickly-growing firm on a global basis.

Morgan turned professional at the age of 17. She qualified for the Women’s U.S. Open at the age of 12. She’s one of the most well-recognized names on the LPGA Tour and has been a consistent performer for many years.

We were inspired by Morgan’s track record of consistent and dependable performance on the course, as well as her creation of the Morgan Pressel Foundation, which raises funds to fight breast cancer. Her proudest achievement is the Kathryn Krickstein Pressel MammoVan, a mobile van that provides early breast cancer detection services and breast health education to women throughout South Florida.

An Interview with LPGA Pro Morgan Pressel

We have been cheering for Morgan while she competes in LPGA tournaments this year, and we are constantly inspired by her drive, determination and commitment to excellence.

Our Women in Technology (WIT) group recently had the good fortune to hear firsthand from Morgan during a special Q&A video call. Comprised of more than 200 colleagues worldwide, our WIT group strives to connect women and their allies across Perficient, facilitate career growth, and build a community dedicated to supporting fellow colleagues. WIT frequently hosts networking and development events that enlighten and inform, and the virtual meeting with Morgan certainly fit the bill.

During the video call, Morgan discussed her challenges, successes and what’s helped her find resilience and motivation through the years. Watch our full interview below.

Social Media Helps Colleagues Inspire Kindness All Around the World

The main goal of this campaign is to inspire others, and our socially-savvy colleagues turned to the virtual world to solicit ideas for how to give back, show support for their favorite nonprofit, and bring attention to causes that are important for them. You can see more examples by following the hashtag #PRFTDifference.

Even PGA pro Matthew Wolff of Team Perficient wanted to help “Make a December Difference”!

The greatest impact comes from the spirit of this campaign, inspiring kindness. And as our friend Matthew Wolff states, “A little kindness goes a long way.”

Now, how will you make a December Difference?

Behind “Team Perficient:” A Hole-In-One Partnership with Top PGA and LPGA Golfers https://blogs.perficient.com/2020/09/20/behind-team-perficient-a-hole-in-one-partnership-with-top-pga-and-lpga-golfers/ https://blogs.perficient.com/2020/09/20/behind-team-perficient-a-hole-in-one-partnership-with-top-pga-and-lpga-golfers/#respond Sun, 20 Sep 2020 20:59:17 +0000 https://blogs.perficient.com/?p=281364

On the heels of the recent announcement of the formation of three professional golfers into “Team Perficient”, I sat down with Perficient’s Vice-President of Marketing, Bill Davis, to learn more about how the team came to be, why there’s such strong alignment between our brand and the athletes selected, and why Perficient’s so excited about these partnerships going forward.

Bill, thanks for the time. Why golf?

Hey Marisa, thank you for the interest. This is certainly something we’re really excited about. Golf’s a game that resonates with our colleagues and customers for many reasons. It’s a sport that requires tremendous dedication – to perform at the levels these athletes do requires intense focus and dedication and an unwavering commitment to determination and discipline. I’m sure each of them would tell you it’s also about a lifelong process of learning that demands humility, curiosity, and flexibility.

That’s not unlike the journey many of our customers have taken – the senior decision-makers and C-level executives we partner with and advise have demonstrated a similar attitude and aptitude over the course of their careers. So, in some ways, I think our customers have an inherent understanding of the real level of professionalism this level of the game requires – beyond just the pure talent.

Yes, but tactically, why golf?

Well, there are a couple interesting things worth noting there. First of all, we’re big believers in the power of sports marketing – we have great partnerships with MLB’s St. Louis Cardinals, the NHL’s St. Louis Blues, and Dallas Mavericks in the NBA. The benefits of those relationships do drive some national exposure for us but the branding benefits accrue primarily in the specific markets. On the other hand, these golfers are truly global and the benefits are not concentrated in, or constrained to, any particular market or geography. As we continue to build Perficient into a true global powerhouse, we knew this was something that would drive visibility for us on a commensurate scale.

Additionally, we had a high degree of confidence that, on a relative basis, the game would be minimally impacted by the pandemic. Some of the challenges the team leagues and sports are dealing with are less of an obstacle to golf. So, we felt good about the game’s ability to weather the storm and keep the major tournaments and events on track.

How did Perficient assemble the team? Why did we choose the athletes we did?

Matthew Wolff - Team Perficient

Matthew Wolff

It was a really interesting process and I’m thrilled with the outcomes. Fundamentally, we started with the proposition that we wanted recognizable names, but where we could really establish a meaningful rationale and ‘connection’ with each.

We gravitated to Matthew Wolff for several reasons – obviously an incredibly exciting young golfer – one of the game’s brightest developing stars with tremendous upside – you saw that from his U.S. Open performance. But what also appealed to us was his uniqueness – he’s really forging his own path with a distinct swing and game approach. As Matthew said when we announced the Team, like Perficient, he’s a disruptor. He’s doing things his own way, distinguishing himself and shaking things up – much as we’re doing as we grow and compete against and routinely beat much bigger ‘names’ in our industry. Matthew’s unapologetically succeeding by doing things differently, just like we are at Perficient.

Morgan Pressel - Team Perficient

Morgan Pressel

Morgan Pressel we identified based on her incredible track record of longevity and performance – a truly consistent and dependable athlete. We were also inspired by Morgan’s proactive commitment to philanthropy. She’s done such great work through her Foundation raising funds for breast cancer research and as we learned more about her, it was clear we shared a common interest in and commitment to giving back and trying to make the world a better place.

And Abraham Ancer, another easy choice. Perficient’s an ambitious and innovative place, and that captures Abe’s spirit pretty well also. In addition to being one of the top-ranked golfers in the world, Abe’s the co-founder of an apparel company AND separately, a tequila company. All of that before the age of 30 – pretty impressive.

Abraham Ancer - Team Perficient

Abraham Ancer

So when you see Perficient colleagues wearing Black Quail apparel and sipping a fine Flecha Azul tequila, you’ll know why. Abe’s pride in his Latin American heritage also appealed to us as we recently expanded in the region and as we approach a point where almost half of our consulting staff exists nearshore or offshore. Perficient’s a truly global company and to be able to add Abe the team was a real highlight.

And beyond those specific reasons, each of these folks are just great people – personable and down to Earth – and we knew they’d be great ambassadors for Perficient and wonderful for our key customers to meet and spend time with.

Speaking of client engagement, what might these relationships mean for some key customers?

Well, of course we’ll encourage everyone affiliated with Perficient to root the Team on, but there are some experiential inclusions in the agreements that we’re pretty excited about. We’ll have the ability to set up some rounds with the pros, do some meet-n-greets, virtual events, memorabilia, and the like. We’re really looking forward to introducing these athletes to the F500 and F100 executives we’re working closely with on a regular basis.

Thanks again for the time today – anything else you think important to cover as we wrap up?

Thank you. I don’t think so – other than to reiterate we’ll really happy about the Team we’ve assembled and that they’ll be representing Perficient for years to come as we continue to build the business into the leading digital consultancy on the planet.
