Designed specifically for consultants, the program equips our colleagues with the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. With content ranging from video tutorials, articles, assignments, and sessions recorded by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Consultant Curriculum encompasses a wide range of tools for colleagues from every learning style.
By aligning with three distinct career stages, the curriculum provides cohorts with a clear path for growth and advancement.
Foundation Building: Associate to Consultant: This learning path focuses on developing core consulting competencies, including communication, organization, time management, taking initiative, problem-solving, and teamwork. These skills are crucial for establishing a strong professional foundation and effectively contributing to project teams.

Consultant Curriculum serves as an extension of Perficient’s Career Paths, providing Technical and Business Consultants useful information related to evolving industry trends and business needs.
In the initial development stage, Wendy LaBenne, senior talent development consultant in Perficient’s Corporate HR team, strategized with leaders at Perficient to understand the relevant and essential skills colleagues need to advance their careers as consultants.
“We were engaged specifically to focus on the soft skills as outlined in our Career Paths resource,” said Wendy. “I conducted a needs assessment survey as well as several calls with consultant leaders to identify soft skills needed at a more micro level. Once the content for each consultant level was determined, I developed the learning content and assignments. I sought input from consultants and leaders in the field to ensure the content is relevant to their work.”
By equipping Perficient’s consultants with fresh perspective and insightful knowledge, the Consultant Curriculum program aims to empower participants to:

Describe your role at Perficient. What does a typical day look like?
As the business operations manager for the healthcare group, I hold the responsibility of making a positive impact on my colleagues by offering structure, support, and training. I ensure that my colleagues have the essential tools and process clarity required to thrive in their roles. Additionally, I prioritize improving communication channels, which ultimately enhances collaboration and contributes to a more cohesive team.
I am grateful to work at a company that prioritizes work-life balance and fosters a culture of appreciation for colleague contributions. The ability to maintain a healthy equilibrium between work and personal life is extremely important to me.
Moreover, being part of a team that consistently acknowledges and values the efforts of each colleague has cultivated a supportive and collaborative work environment that I enjoy.
What made you decide to work for Perficient? What makes you stay and want to do your best work?
In all honesty, I ended up at Perficient serendipitously. I was working through a temp agency and was sent to Perficient as a file clerk back when we had an office in Austin, Texas. The assignment was only for six weeks, but after the initial timeframe, I stayed on and was eventually hired. I left the company but returned about a year and a half later. I stayed because I like the culture fostered at Perficient and I have always been treated with professional respect, even when I was just a temporary file clerk.
Healthcare and life sciences organizations are increasingly focused on equity. How are you seeing DE&I addressed in your work and in the industry?
Many of my colleagues are doing great work addressing DEI with our customers! They are utilizing their industry and technical expertise to build inclusive care pathways, messaging strategies, and digital transformation initiatives for our clients.
In addition, I have been thrilled to see Perficient’s Bright Paths Program unfold. I look forward to our company’s continued success in bringing STEM opportunities to underrepresented groups and collaborating with current and future Bright Paths graduates at Perficient.

For Louise Kraus, a business coordinator based in New Jersey, each day offers the chance to discover new concepts and continue growing as a leader. Through her work supporting multiple business units, including Adobe, Financial Services, Minneapolis, Chicago, Digital Strategy, and Experience Design and Mobile Solutions, Louise wears many hats around the office. Our team recently sat down with Louise to learn more about her role as a business coordinator and how she is setting an example for future women leaders in technology.
Hi Louise, thank you for meeting with us today. Can you describe your role and what a typical day on the job looks like?
I have been a business coordinator at Perficient for almost nine years now, and I support the back office and operations. I work with project managers and salespeople to help manage projects, and we are constantly changing and always learning something new. During a typical day, I usually start off by reviewing “piffs” and “puffs.” These are project intake forms that we use when the contract is ready to be signed and the project is ready to be entered. I set up the project and add the budget, hours, and people. I process a lot of project update forms every day as well, which is when the project manager is ready to update a project and change the invoice.
In general, I help put out many fires and assist the project managers if there is an issue. I also help with month-end close. The most difficult aspect of my job is getting everything in on time for close because we have a lot of revenue to capture across multiple accounts. I enjoy all the people I work with from fellow business consultants, managers, project managers, and consultants. It’s great to work with people who are so open and responsive. I’m proud of each of our business coordinators and the diverse work we do.
How have you grown your career at Perficient?
I’ve chosen to stay in the same position because I enjoy this job and what I do. It’s never boring. I grow every day because I’m always learning something new. We’re constantly learning new ways to improve the position and what business consultants can do for the company. I’m always challenged, and I like that.
Whether big or small, how do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?
I volunteer locally to deliver food to shut-ins and elderly people once a month. I also participate in the Perficient Gives charitable match program. I think this is a really neat opportunity to be able to give back at Perficient.
What are your proudest accomplishments, personally and professionally? Any milestone moments at Perficient?
Creating reports and handling the volume I receive every day is an accomplishment itself. I also work with a lot of the newer business consultants, and I love encouraging them to take courses to grow their careers. I have taken a few classes myself through Udemy and Perficient Academy, such as:
Email etiquette and time management;
OneNote;
Excel;
Italian; and
Courses that will enhance my work and organization skills.
With Perficient growing internationally, I would like to take courses to learn Spanish and other languages. I suggest that all colleagues at Perficient should use the tools available to take training courses. I think it’s so beneficial, and there are a lot of opportunities for project managers. For new colleagues, these tools can be very helpful in learning the processes at Perficient.
What has your experience at Perficient taught you?
I really enjoy working here because of the people. My experience has taught me a lot about collaboration, and I like the integrity of Perficient. We have such a good team, and we’re always helping each other out. Everybody pulls their weight, and we have each other’s backs. If someone doesn’t know how to do something, we call each other up and people are willing to help. I appreciate that so much.
Why did you choose Perficient, and why do you remain #ProudlyPerficient?
I joined Perficient through an acquisition, but I stayed because I enjoy working here. It’s the people that make the difference. I’ve had many managers, but everyone has been great. The people are who make it enjoyable to work here.
If you had to define yourself using one Perficient value, which would it be and why?
I would probably say a few, but I think integrity is one of the most important. If you don’t have integrity, then you don’t have anything. People and collaboration are also incredibly important.
Perficient believes in a strong work/life balance. What is one way you accomplish this?
I do not work on the weekends. Remote work allows me to get up and go walking, then stop work at a decent time to be with my family.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
I love to cook. I’m also passionate about pets and animals. It’s one of my goals to travel more. I have been to many places in the U.S., but I just recently went out of the country for the first time. I went to Dublin, Ireland! I love talking to locals wherever I go because it’s a great way to learn more about the culture. The people I met in Dublin were incredible.

When I joined Perficient in May of 2020, I brought positivity, dedication, and more than twenty years of software quality and validation experience within healthcare and pharma.
As a lead business consultant in the computer system validation department, I plan, write, implement, and review the computer systems validation plan and protocols within highly regulated industries.
I also manage test management systems and application testing cycles for different client projects. Throughout the project lifecycle, I play a significant role in the requirements, qualification testing, and implementation phases.
I engage with clients to understand the project’s validation, related expectations, and requirements for successful delivery, including:

Functional and technical specifications reviews
Test plans
IQ, OQ, and PQ protocol & reports
Deviation management
Validation summary reports
I am also involved in updating relevant SOPs, related to quality assessment of software and computer system suppliers, according to applicable business requirements and company procedures.
At Perficient, I am continuing to grow my knowledge and experience in the healthcare industry.

Consultant Curriculum is a professional development program specifically created for Technical and Business Consultants consisting of self-paced programming designed to help build important skills for professional growth. Colleagues are grouped into cohorts and complete role-based courses, instructional videos, articles, and assignments outlining the soft skills needed for their next role.
Learning to Lead is a program for individual contributors interested in exploring career growth in people leadership. This professional development program groups participants into cohorts as they complete modules, monthly training sessions, and individual assignments that discuss leadership best practices.
Leading With Impact is the flagship program for new/newer global people leaders that includes curriculum focused on building leadership capabilities and fostering relationships with direct reports. Through this program, nominated and chosen participants spend six months understanding what it takes to be a successful leader while growing new skills to bring to their team.
In addition to the resources above, colleagues can also use our Career Development Planning Workbook to better understand themselves, explore career options at Perficient, and set strategic, attainable career goals. All Perficient colleagues also have access to Perficient Academy, our on-demand learning platform with training materials they can access to develop their skills at their own pace.
