Meet Aadela Nishat, a lead technical consultant based in India, whose passion for innovation, mentorship, and continuous learning has made a significant impact across our India offices. Aadela is dedicated to fostering an inclusive workplace where collaboration thrives and colleagues feel empowered to grow. With her technical expertise and aptitude for guiding others, she supports both client success and team development while staying at the forefront of emerging technologies like AI and machine learning (ML).     Aadela Nishat in front of Perficient sign

In this People of Perficient profile, we’ll explore Aadela’s journey over the past four years at Perficient.

What is your role? Describe a typical day in the life.

I’m a lead technical consultant, and I spend most of my time architecting solutions, mentoring developers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

My day kicks off with a quick stand-up meeting to align on priorities and blockers. Then, I have time to dive deep into coding. Whether I’m working on user-centric applications, reviewing pull requests, or designing scalable architectures, I’m focused on delivering thoughtful, high-quality solutions. I also guide team members by helping them troubleshoot problems and sharing best practices.

My afternoons often involve cross-team collaboration to connect with user experience (UX) designers, quality assurance (QA) engineers, and project managers. I also carve out time to explore technologies like AI and ML, write blogs, and organize internal tech events to keep the learning culture alive. It’s a dynamic mix of strategy, execution, and mentorship, which keeps it exciting!

How do you explain your job to family, friends, or children?

When I explain my job to my family, I keep it simple. I tell them I help build apps and websites that people use every day. I work with teams to make sure everything runs smoothly, looks great, and solves real problems.

Whether big or small, how do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?

I make a difference by being someone people can count on. For clients, I deliver clean, scalable solutions that meet their goals. Internally, I lead by example by sharing knowledge through blogs, organizing learning sessions, and encouraging others to explore new technologies.

I’m passionate about building an inclusive culture. I connect with colleagues across teams, help onboard new members, and create spaces where people feel supported and inspired to grow. It’s the little things, like a helpful code review or a quick tech tip, that often make the biggest impact.

What are your proudest accomplishments professionally? Any milestone moments at Perficient?

One of the proudest moments in my journey at Perficient has been earning recognition from directors and senior leaders for delivering complex solutions, mentoring teammates, and driving technical excellence across projects. That kind of appreciation is validating and energizing. It reminds me that the effort I put in is making a real impact.

A milestone I hold close was when I organized a company-wide tech event focused on AI and ML. It wasn’t just about tech, but bringing people together, sparking curiosity, and building momentum around innovation. Seeing colleagues from different teams connect and learn from one another was incredibly rewarding.

Describe what it’s like working with your team. What’s the culture like?

Media (3)

Working with my team at Perficient has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. We’ve built a culture rooted in collaboration, curiosity, and continuous growth. Whether solving complex technical challenges or celebrating milestones, there’s a strong sense of unity and shared purpose. The team dynamic is energetic and inclusive. Everyone brings something unique, and there’s a genuine willingness to support, mentor, and learn from one another.

Our office culture is vibrant and people-first. We celebrate festivals, host tech events, and create space for connection beyond work. One of my favorite moments was the Diwali celebration in Hyderabad. The event brought the whole team together and reminded me of the shared joy and energy found across our offices. Being part of this team means being part of a community that values growth, recognition, and togetherness. It’s a place where you’re encouraged to lead, learn, and lift others along the way.

What has your experience at Perficient taught you?

My experience at Perficient has taught me that growth happens when you lean into challenges and stay curious. Over the past four years, I’ve learned about leading with empathy, collaborating across diverse teams, and balancing technical depth with strategic thinking. I’ve seen firsthand how a strong culture of learning and support can elevate not just projects, but also people.

My experience has also taught me the value of adaptability. Whether I’m working with familiar technologies or exploring something entirely new, every project challenges me to grow, adapt, and think bigger. Most importantly, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t just about guiding others; it’s about listening, learning, and growing together.

What advice would you give to colleagues who are starting their career with Perficient?

Be curious, proactive, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. Perficient is a place where you can shape your own path, whether you’re passionate about front-end frameworks, back-end systems, or emerging tech like AI and ML.

Take ownership early. Dive into projects, volunteer for challenges, and build connections across teams. Also, don’t underestimate the power of sharing what you learn. Write blogs, join tech sessions, or even host one. It’s a great way to help others while also growing as a leader and communicator.

Finally, enjoy the journey. Growth here isn’t just about titles. It’s about the impact you make, the people you uplift, and the mindset you carry forward.

What’s something surprising people might not know about you or your background?

Something people might not know is that my journey into tech wasn’t mapped out from the start. It grew through curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning. I didn’t become a lead technical consultant by following a straight path. I explored, experimented, and kept pushing boundaries.

Outside of work, I’m equally driven by creativity and connection. I love photography and sketching. These hobbies help me see the world from different angles, while bringing a sense of calm and inspiration to my day. That blend of technical curiosity and artistic expression shapes how I lead and collaborate.

Perficient believes in a strong work-life balance. What is one way you accomplish this?

Maintaining work-life balance starts with being intentional about my time. I make space for the things that recharge me, like photography, sketching, and reading. These creative outlets help me unwind, stay inspired, and bring fresh energy into my day. I also love exploring new places and meeting new people.

Most importantly, I cherish time with my family, especially my parents and my adorable niece and nephew. Their love and laughter are my biggest source of joy, and being with them keeps me grounded and grateful.

Perficient’s talented colleagues from around the world bring unique perspectives that spark innovation and shatter boundaries. By fostering a culture that champions growth and celebrates every individual, we’re forging deep, meaningful connections that drive our success.

Meet Joe Tufo, lead technical consultant, whose unwavering dedication to mentoring has promoted greater collaboration across Perficient’s Sitecore practice. Over the last five years, Joe has embodied a growth mindset, progressing from senior technical consultant to lead developer. His work, from creating customized solutions for clients to managing software development processes, reflects Perficient’s commitment to make a difference. Continue reading to learn more about his involvement with the Acquia team and how his passion for learning has inspired continuous growth.

What is your role? Describe a typical day in the life.

Joe Blog HeadshotAs a lead developer, my role involves overseeing the development process and ensuring both best practices and functional requirements are met across projects. A typical day begins with multiple stand-ups with geographically dispersed teams, which helps align priorities and address any blockers. I work on both Acquia Site Studio and traditional Drupal projects. In Site Studio, much of the development occurs in the admin interface, with configurations exported and reviewed by checking the feature branch directly in the admin due to the complexity of the exported configurations. For traditional Drupal projects, I perform code reviews by inspecting the code directly. Across both types of projects, I focus on maintaining consistency, adhering to best practices, and ensuring the work aligns with functional requirements. Alongside these responsibilities, I also manage my own development tasks, balancing leadership duties with hands-on contributions to project progress.

Whether big or small, how do you make a difference for our clients, colleagues, communities, or teams?

I make a difference by always being accessible and approachable for questions, feedback, or even quick Drupal tutorials. I try to be patient and understanding because I know not everyone comes in with the same level of knowledge or experience. I’ve been there myself, and I really appreciated when someone took the time to help me and answered my questions kindly. Now, I want to pay that forward by creating a supportive environment where my team feels comfortable reaching out and confident in what they’re learning.

What are your proudest accomplishments, personally and professionally? Any milestone moments at Perficient?

I’m proud of all the work I do at Perficient because each project is unique. If I had to pick a standout accomplishment, it would be the search implementation we did for a healthcare client. That project was particularly special because it involved collaborating with multiple business units and other development teams, all while integrating a search technology we hadn’t used with Drupal before. It was a great opportunity to learn something new, work with new people, and deliver a truly unique and impactful solution for the client.

What advice would you give to colleagues who are starting their career with Perficient?

My advice would be to take on as many different projects as you can and to step outside of your comfort zone. Don’t shy away from work that’s unfamiliar or challenging; it’s one of the best ways to learn and grow. The more you expose yourself to new technologies and approaches, the more versatile and valuable you’ll become.

What motivates you in your daily work?

The opportunity to grow and help others succeed is what motivates me in my daily work. I’m always happy to provide guidance or support to my team because their success is just as important as my own. I want to see the Acquia team thrive and knowing I can contribute to that motivates me to give my best every day.

With Perficient’s mission statement in mind, how do you obsess over outcomes?

I obsess over client outcomes because our success is directly tied to their success. By focusing on delivering the best results, I ensure that our solutions meet their needs, drive impact, and build long-term relationships.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Joe Tufo BaseballOutside of work, I’m passionate about my family and sports. My wife and I have two sons and a Shiba Inu. I coach both of my sons in baseball, which I really enjoy. I’ve been playing baseball since I was 4 years old. I still play in two amateur baseball leagues, plus I play recreational basketball. Sports have always been a big part of my life, and I’ve met some of my best friends through playing sports. It’s a great way to stay connected, stay active, and share something with my family.

What goals do you have for personal and professional development?

One of my main goals is to continue helping and mentoring other developers. I had a great opportunity to work with our offshore team, and it was incredibly rewarding. I look forward to growing in this area, sharing my knowledge, and helping others develop their skills.

What’s one thing you wish your colleagues knew about you?

One thing that’s not widely known about me is that I have an identical twin brother. It never really came up much, but things have gotten interesting now that our kids go to the same school and play sports together. Since we live in the same city, people often see both of us at different times and get confused. It’s been a fun and unexpected situation, but it’s also led to some awkward moments.

What has your experience at Perficient taught you?

I have learned that empathetic listening is one of the most important qualities a person can have, both professionally and personally.

What advice would you give to colleagues who are starting their career with Perficient?

I would tell them to stay grounded and have patience. Initially, it can feel overwhelming to find your place and get situated with your team and project. However, once you start getting to know people and become more comfortable and confident with the technology stack, you will find your place. Remember to keep your focus on the goal, remain calm, and always be positive.

Why did you choose Perficient? What keeps you here?

Malvika Malviya

The people! Perficient is a “people company,” and I strongly agree with this sentiment. Wherever in the world a colleague is based, everyone is willing to offer a helping hand.

How would you describe the team dynamic in Nagpur?

Although I work remotely, I feel connected to the team. It is very dynamic and never misses the opportunity to celebrate. We believe in working hard together and celebrating even harder. Independence Day is a very memorable day and colleagues enjoyed feeling patriotic.

What motivates you in your daily work?

My family is my motivation, especially my mother who is an English literature teacher. I am also motivated by the talented team I work with every day. Their enthusiasm and collaboration are contagious!

What are you passionate about outside of work? Malvika Malviya

I am very passionate about visiting orphanages and old age homes. After my father passed away 10 years ago, I became more empathetic towards people. That experience made me realize that people and my family are the most important aspect of my life. I always encourage people to be grateful for their family and surroundings.

What is one thing you wish your colleagues knew about you?

Something surprising that people may not know about me is that I like to sing. I also grew up in a big, joint Indian family. I love and appreciate the collaboration and teamwork mindset it has instilled in me.
