Oracle Expands Marketing Software Portfolio: Buys Responsys

Today Oracle announced they are acquiring Responsys, a leading B2C cloud-based marketing system. This acquisition is part of Oracle’s strategy in becoming an end-to-end player in the rapidly expanding customer experience space.

Earlier this year Oracle purchased Eloqua, a B2B marketing platform. By combining Responsys and Eloqua, Oracle says, “for the first time CMOs across industries will be equipped to drive exceptional customer experiences across marketing interactions and throughout the customer lifecycle from a Repsonsys imagesingle platform.”

Once the acquisition is complete in 2014, Oracle’s Marketing Cloud will allow companies to address customer experiences in marketing, commerce, sales, service, and social systems.  Oracle has nicely positioned itself as a single vendor of choice in the  customer experience platform (CXP) market.
