  According to Google, people are now performing more Google searches on their mobile phones than on their computers. This statistic reiterates the fact that all life sciences companies should ramp up their mobile initiatives to reach subjects and patients through the channels they use most. 

  Now that September is here, I thought it would be neat to look back at what our readers found most interesting last month. Below are the top five blog posts Perficient’s life sciences practice wrote in August – they’re ranked in order of popularity, with number one being the most viewed piece. 

  Back in April, I wrote the piece 5 Apps Leveraging Apple’s ResearchKit For Clinical Studies. What’s interesting, in retrospect, is that none of those apps were developed by pharmaceutical companies, but rather by academic medical centers and nonprofit organizations. 

  Imagine mailing over 60,000 letters to have only netted 305 breast cancer survivors for a clinical study. And that took three years. Now imagine enrolling thousands of subjects for a study, albeit with less strict criteria, in less than one month. That’s thanks to an app.
