Perficient colleagues within our award-winning Sitecore team bring years of experience and vast knowledge to the practice and our clients. We’re proud to have been recently named a 2022 Sitecore Partner of the Year Award winner, which recognizes our team’s extensive Sitecore expertise, and their dedication and commitment to delivering innovative and impactful solutions to the world’s biggest brands.

Below is an inside look into Tiffany Laster’s role as a technical consultant on the Sitecore team. She shares her passion for helping clients, explains how she is expanding her technical skills, and discusses her hobbies outside of digital marketing strategy.

What is your role? Describe a typical day in the life.

I’m a technical consultant, and I primarily work on digital strategy within the Sitecore practice. My day shifts depending on which client I’m focusing on. Sometimes this includes discovery workshops and pursuit calls for potential clients, or I could be doing SEO audits and presentations with clients. I also help configure new Sitecore products and train clients how to use them. My primary focus is to guarantee those products are configured to meet their business needs by having my hands in the products themselves and the strategy to fully optimize them.

How are you making an impact?

I help with pre-sales, communicating with clients, and letting them know what types of services Perficient can provide. On the other side of that, when they purchase the license, I ensure that we configure the products to work best with their business needs. I then help their teams understand how to utilize the products they purchased.

What motivates you in your daily work?

I really enjoy the chance to learn something new every day. I live by the saying, “If you’re not progressing, you’re falling behind.” Perficient allows me to challenge myself to step outside of my comfort zone, so I always feel like I have the opportunity to learn something new.

Joining the tech industry has opened a whole new world of resources to me. A fellow colleague pointed out my technical aptitude, and I’ve always had an interest in not only the strategy side, but also the technical side. Even when I was growing up, technology was always fascinating to me, and I’m happy I recently started exploring it through taking coding courses. My goal is to finish a developer course and work towards being a front-end developer.

How have you grown your career with Perficient?

When I started in digital strategy, it was all about building websites, design, and content strategy. Once I joined Perficient, I was able to dive into marketing strategies like testing and personalization to give marketing teams the data they need to support their business needs and workflows. I think having access to Sitecore products opens the door for a more robust marketing strategy.

If you had to define yourself using one Perficient value, which would it be and why?

I would say “Clients” because I always strive to make sure that our clients are successful and happy with what we’ve configured for them. I want to make sure they are knowledgeable about the products so they can walk away feeling not only satisfied but empowered and fully equipped to use these products to the best of their abilities.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

I love outdoor sports and anything that keeps me outside. I enjoy kayaking, paddle boarding, snowboarding, and I recently started learning how to wakeboard. I’m also building a cabin with my boyfriend, which has been super exciting. As much as I love technology and digital marketing, I try to get outside as much as I can.

What is something surprising people might not know about you or your background?

I really love to cook. I’ve been cooking since I was five or six years old when I first learned how to scramble eggs, and I have carried this passion throughout my life. I love trying new dishes and attempting to replicate dishes I’ve eaten at restaurants. Asian cuisine is my favorite, so I make sushi, homemade ramen, and stir fry a lot at home. I would love to travel to Japan to snowboard and do a foodie tour.

It’s no secret our success is because of our people. No matter the technology or time zone, our colleagues are committed to delivering innovative, end-to-end digital solutions for the world’s biggest brands, and we bring a collaborative spirit to every interaction. We’re always seeking the best and brightest to work with us. Join our team and experience a culture that challenges, champions, and celebrates our people.
