“Members feel a sense of accomplishment and mental clarity after completing each event,” said Maya. “The program gives them a sense of empowerment to make better informed decisions on incorporating wellness and self-care into their lifestyle.”

Perficient Promotes Colleagues’ Physical and Mental Wellbeing through ‘The Winning With Wellness Contest’

The LiveWell@Perficient program hosted “The Winning With Wellness Contest” during the month of May in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month.

As part of the contest, participants were given the chance to win premium wellness prizes for attending one or more of the weekly wellness events and posting a comment each week in the Teams channel. Prizes included a Ninja Air Fryer and a NutriBullet Juicer, among other wellness-themed prizes.

The weekly wellness events ranged from desk Pilates to group meditation, a stand and stretch session, and acupressure for self-care. By the end of the month, five colleagues were randomly selected to win a prize.

“I enjoyed participating in the contest because the wellness sessions helped a lot before or after stressful calls or tasks,” said Sean Brundle, senior technical consultant and contest winner. “With the sessions being only 20 to 30 minutes, it was a quick break that allowed me to reset and either relax or boost my energy. The contest element was an added bonus that pushed me to attend more of the sessions and become more engaged.”

Participating in the contest allowed Alyssa Incapreo, associate technical consultant and contest winner, to realize that taking a break to reset her mind and body made her more productive at work. “My favorite events were the stand and stretch classes. It was nice to get out of my chair to stretch the muscles that get tense sitting at my desk all day.”

The contest helped membership in the LiveWell Teams channel skyrocket in May, and now has a community of several hundred members regularly attending events and sharing resources with one another.

Maya has seen the benefits the Teams channel has for its members.

“The channel has proven to provide positive and supportive interactions between members where they can start dialogues centered around wellness and also create enthusiasm to promote a better work environment,” she said.

For contest winner, Janet Manning, senior business consultant, she gained a network of colleagues who share similar wellness goals. “LiveWell is an excellent benefit to colleagues because it provides the opportunity to learn more about healthy life choices. It’s also great to have a group of colleagues who you can ask questions, share ideas with, and just get to know.”
