Each colleague around the globe individually brings something unique, allowing us to be a diverse organization. The diversity of people, their insights, and their skillsets within Perficient allows Growth for Everyone by adapting a wide range of skills through collaboration.

For the past nine years, Lori Jane Shoenthal has been a business coordinator in Perficient’s Charlotte, North Carolina, office. During this past year, Lori not only celebrated her 10-year anniversary with the company, but she also transitioned into a new role. Now a business analyst, Lori Jane shares her story, her Perficient experience, and what it’s been like transitioning into a new role.

Describe your job and what you do in your everyday work.
I was a business coordinator for over nine years until earlier this year. I am now a business analyst working in the data governance space with a major healthcare provider. I relate my role to being an air traffic controller, but instead of guiding airplanes to the correct airport, I guide the review of third-party vendor requests for data and make sure they have all the proper documentation.

What is some career advice that has helped you?
Recognizing that sometimes it takes time to understand and adapt. For me, it was a huge challenge to leave a role I had been in for over nine years, where I had built great confidence and expertise, to then move into a role in a new industry and essentially start all over. I find myself learning more every day, and I have seen my progress and have regained my confidence.

What is your favorite Perficient Value and why?

Each Perficient value is essential to the success of our company and colleagues. In my prior role, I would’ve said Collaboration since I worked so closely with so many people. Now that I have moved into directly supporting a client, I would say my new favorite value is Clients! In the end, the satisfaction of our clients is what keeps us in business.

What is your favorite Perficient memory so far?
I’ve had several over the years. Most revolve around the Charlotte team’s annual holiday party since it’s the one time a year all colleagues near Charlotte can get together and meet each other.

What makes you proud to work for Perficient?
I’m proud to work for Perficient because I always find myself surrounded by wonderful, caring, and smart colleagues. Perficient provides a great atmosphere and culture and contributes to various communities and charities. The Make a December Difference donation last year was one of the most wonderful things to do as a company.

What has been a professional milestone moment for you?
Reaching the 10-year milestone with Perficient was definitely a huge accomplishment! Time does fly when you’re having fun and enjoy what you are doing.
