People of Perficient: Meet Chandra Craven, Senior Digital Healthcare Strategist

Chandra Craven Black Panther

Chandra Craven helps healthcare organizations find their power by channeling the voice of the customer. I connected with her to learn more about the passion she brings to her role as a Senior Digital Healthcare Strategist. Along the way, I learned that she flexes some serious, professional cosplay skills in her spare time – in case that wasn’t already obvious from the (literal) hero photo accompanying this blog! I always love hearing Chandra’s thoughtful perspective on the consumer experience, and am sure you will, too.

Chandra, thank you so much for joining me today. I’d love to learn more about your role as a strategist in our healthcare practice. How do you help our clients bring focus to their digital initiatives?

As a Senior Digital Healthcare Strategist, I work with healthcare systems to create consumer and patient experiences with the use of a human lens. The best digital experiences are built by meeting both the needs and the expectations of healthcare consumers.

It’s not cliché to say that every day of my work is a little different! On some days, I am leading my clients through workshops that help them determine what success will mean for their project. At other times, I’m providing strategic recommendations or audits of digital consumer experiences on websites and mobile apps.

I enjoy this variety because every day provides opportunity to learn and understand the ever-changing healthcare consumer and healthcare market.

What about working at Perficient brings you the most joy and personal satisfaction?

Before coming to Perficient, I worked for more than 20 years as a healthcare marketer at leading hospitals in Boston Mass., including Boston Children’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital.

What got me excited to work at Perficient was the opportunity to continue to help healthcare systems provide digital experiences that create access and help patients get to the right care, right location, at the right time.

Healthcare access for every patient is a personal mission of mine. And through my work, I know that we are creating easier, more accessible pathways to personal and community health.

One of the other reasons why I enjoy working at Perficient is being surrounded by team members who aren’t only collaborative, but are constantly sharing new ways of thinking about digital experiences. I can then pass those learnings and ideas along to the clients I’m working with.

We build upon our expertise to really bring the best in practice as well as digital experiences of “wow.”

What initially drew you to our global digital consultancy? And what keeps you here?

My current director, Tara Becker, was also my former director at another institution. She referred me to Perficient in mid-2019. As someone who had never worked in an agency, I was initially nervous and intimidated.

At Perficient, I’ve found that my expertise and my perspective are not only appreciated but also valued and shared among our team and with our clients. It’s a real opportunity to bring change that extends beyond just one market to, more greatly, impact clients and people across the nation.

Perficient is always thinking about “what’s next” in the world of digital, and I’m excited to be a part of that forward momentum. I especially appreciate our shared commitment to making the digital landscape more inclusive and accessible for consumers, clients, and our teams here at Perficient.
